“THE ANIMAL WELFARE ACT OF 1998 -PHILIPPINES “
Sec. 6. It shall be unlawful for any person to torture any animal, to neglect to provide adequate care, sustenance or shelter, or maltreat any animal or to subject any dog or horse to dogfights or horse-fights kill or cause or procure to be tortured or deprived of adequate care, sustenance or shelter, or maltreat or use the same in research or experiments not expressly authorized by the Committee on Animal Welfare.
Sec. 8. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this Act shall, upon conviction by final judgement be punished by imprisonment of not less than six (6) months nor more than two (2) years or a fine of not less than One thousand pesos (P1,000.00) nor more than Five thousand pesos (P5,000.00) or both at the discretion of the Court. If the violation is committed by a juridical person, the officer responsible therefore shall serve the imprisonment when imposed. If the violation is committed by an alien, he or she shall be immediately deported after service of sentence without any further proceedings.

Kenneth a dog who needs surgical operation needs OUR help!
This is NOT Kabang the dog who ran in front of a motor bike to save his owners little girls.
CSDCi (Cebu South Dog Club) and IRO (Island Rescue Organization) are jointly working to raise funds for his Medical Surgery.
UPDATE Oct 6, 2012 @ 7.45 PM PH Time (+8 GMT):
CSDCi (Cebu South Dog Club Inc.) and IRO (Island Rescue Organization Inc.) volunteers together with Kenneth’s foster owner(Jan-jan) brought him to Animal Wellness Veterinary Hospital today around 2.PM.
Dr. Guille Zialcita, the Chief Veterinarian of the hospital and one of the Lead Volunteer Doctors in IRO’s Vet Med Panel assessed Kenneth. Laboratory test results shows that he is anaemic. This is because of massive blood loss in his system. Other lab test results shows fine.
He is now confined in the hospital and in preparation for his surgery. Dr. Zialcita confirms that Kenneth’s detached body part (snout) will undergo RE-CONSTRUCTION or it can be done with RE-ATTACHMENT procedure. We the CSDCi and IRO are very thankful for all the support in monetary & those who supported via prayers.
OUR prayers were heard and Kenneth is expected to undergo the re-construction surgery Oct 8 or 9, 2012 depending on his condition.
Please help with the medical expenses to help Kenneth.

We still are not aware how much the total cost will be but we stated $1,000.00 to cover the special canned food he will need and his post-surgical needs and care. Kenneth will go to IRO’s Danao Center where he can heal in peace, in his own room, and with IRO volunteer Doc Keith (an American DVM) who can do post-surgical care.

“When looking at the wound, it does look like a clean-cut, as if done with a machete or some type of blade. There doesn’t appear to be any ragged edges which makes me think a blade caused it. It’s not a fresh-cut either, it looks like it was done at least several days ago. WTF…how many people must this little pup have passed, looking like that, yet nobody bothered until now. I’m ashamed to be called human!!”
“I apologise now for any error’s but it’s 4.45 am in England, I can’t get Kenneth’s horrific images out of my mind, nor why anyone could do such a horrific thing like that to such a sweet pup! I can’t sleep! I’m just taking my morphine & it made me think, about how much pain Kenneth must be in…poor little guy. But I’m sure those caring for him are doing all they can to make him more comfortable. I’m just praying he has the strength & will power to overcome the future surgeries etc. Oh, I just want to give him a cuddle & tell him he will soon be more beautiful than he was before & he is going to have a wonderful loving family to take care of him; as soon as he is all better”
