“OMG…this POS must be mentally impaired, as no sane person would do such despicable things to innocent puppies! His name & picture need to be on any Animal Abuse Registers & on every shelter wall. I hope he rots in jail, where hopefully another inmate might show him more things one can do with a pair of scissors ūüôā ¬†(sorry some posts are outdated but I feel some stories need to be told; especially if it may help others by sharing an image of the offending party) My¬†apologise¬†to anyone who sent me stories to be posted & they haven’t been done yet, I’m splitting my time between so many different things, I’m meeting myself coming backwards!!”¬†

By Eric W. Dolan –¬†Tuesday, August 13, (No updates seen as yet)

A man in Cobb County, Georgia has been arrested for allegedly mutilating two puppies his neighbors gave him to watch.

Robert Williams Davis

Robert Williams Davis, 38, was arrested just before midnight on Saturday after police officers found the dogs’ dead bodies in a wooded area behind his house.

A 14-year-old neighbour of Davis had given him and his girlfriend the two pit bull puppies. A pit bull rescue group was going to pick the dogs up within a few days. But the neighbour, Tyler Tedesco, learned that Davis had killed the two puppies. He called 911.

‚ÄúI saw that, I dropped what I was doing and just walked away. I couldn‚Äôt bear to see that because I raised those dogs,‚ÄĚ Tedesco told¬†WSBTV.

Davis allegedly killed both puppies with a pair of scissors. Police said one dog was beheaded, while the other was stabbed in the throat. It is unclear why Davis killed the puppies.

‚ÄúWe all ran back to the house and cried. As soon as we saw it, it was something nobody wants to go through or see. And it‚Äôs really hard for all of us to know that somebody could even do that to a poor innocent animal,‚ÄĚ Tedesco said.

Davis was charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and three counts of tampering with evidence. He is being held on $250,000 bond.

Appeals Court Vacates Ban on US Horse Slaughter

Comments Off on Appeals Court Vacates Ban on US Horse Slaughter

“THIS IS A DIFFICULT SUBJECT for me to discuss. I own horses & understand that due to overpopulation, lack of food or abandonment etc. it is causing welfare problems. Charities can’t protect every horse in need of a home, they will simply never have enough funds to protect them all. God…I wish they could, I hate to see horses or any animal for that matter suffer, no animal lover would want an animal to suffer unnecessarily. So to prevent this, if there is no other way possible to save them, I would prefer they were put out of their misery; in the kindest way possible & cremated. ¬†Horses die from disease, injury or just old age & their bodies have to be dealt with whatever the¬†circumstance.

“If owners are not permitted to dispose of the body themselves on their own land, which most aren’t; then the body (no matter how loved) has to be dealt with! I dread the day one of my horses dies or has to be put to sleep, but I don’t have land to bury them on or the required permission…it would literally break my heart, but I will have no option but to still call the knacker man (for want of a better word) to cremate the body & return the ashes to me, so I can do with them as I wish.”

“WHAT I ¬†OPPOSE is the use of slaughterhouses TO KILL HEALTHY, ILL & ABUSED HORSES FOR FOOD & PROFIT! This planet already kills way too many animals to feed the population, some in the most barbaric, cheapest & despicable ways, with rife abuse & cruelty: which is why I don’t eat animals. Those who don’t own horses but own dogs, would find the practice of a slaughterhouse for dogs horrific & wouldn’t stand for it! Just as it is with horse owners/lovers… HORSES DO NOT BELONG ON THE MENU in this century or the next. By all means their bodies have to be¬†dealt¬†with…BUT NO HORSE SHOULD¬†END UP ON A PLATE! Killing horses for their meat & profit alone is not justified; THOSE WHO WISH TO KILL HORSES FOR FOOD, ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY, PURE GREED ALONE & IT IS THEY WHO SHOULD BE BANNED!!”

A federal appeals court on Friday removed a temporary ban on domestic horse slaughter, clearing the way for companies in New Mexico, Missouri and Iowa to open while an appeal of a lawsuit by animal protection groups proceeds.

The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver lifted the emergency injunction it issued in November after The Humane Society of the United States and others appealed the ruling of a federal judge in Albuquerque. The judge said the U.S. Department of Agriculture followed proper procedure in issuing permits to Valley Meat Co. in Roswell, N.M., Rains Natural Meats of Gallatin, Mo., and Responsible Transportation in Sigourney, Iowa.

The appeals court’s order Friday said the groups had “failed to meet their burden for an injunction pending appeal.”

Blair Dunn, an attorney for Valley Meat and Rains Natural Meats, said the order lifts the emergency status of the case, meaning it will likely be months before a final decision is issued.

Dunn said the plants are ready to open, although they could agree to remain shuttered if the plaintiffs agree to post a sufficient bond to cover the companies’ losses should they ultimately prevail.

“They are getting ready to go as quickly as they can. It shouldn’t take too long. Not more than two weeks,” he said.

The Humane Society, however, said “the fight for America‘s horses is not over.”

“We will press for a quick resolution of the merits of our claims in the 10th Circuit,” said Jonathan R. Lovvorn, the group’s senior vice president of animal protection litigation and investigations.

The plants would become the first horse slaughterhouses to operate in the U.S. since 2007. Congress effectively banned horse slaughter by eliminating funding for inspections at the plants in 2006. It restored that funding in 2011, but the USDA did not approve the first permits for horse slaughterhouses until this summer.

The issue has divided horse rescue and animal welfare groups, ranchers, politicians and Indian tribes about what is the most humane way to deal with the country’s horse overpopulation, and what rescue groups have said are a rising number of neglected and starving horses as the West deals with persistent drought.

Valley Meat and Responsible Transportation were set to begin horse slaughter operations in August, but U.S. District Judge Christina Armijo blocked their plans while she heard the lawsuit by The Humane Society of the United States, Front Range Equine Rescue and others. The groups claimed the plants should have been forced to undergo environmental reviews under provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act.

Responsible Transportation abandoned its horse slaughter plans and converted its plant to cattle before Armijo dismissed the lawsuit in November.

Attorneys for the plants have argued that the plaintiffs are simply in court because they are morally opposed to horse slaughter and are looking for a way to delay the plants while they lobby Congress for a ban.

Proponents of a return to domestic horse slaughter point to a 2011 report from the federal Government Accountability Office that shows horse abuse and abandonment have increased since domestic horse slaughter was banned. They say it is better to slaughter the animals in humane, federally regulated facilities than have them abandoned to starve across the drought-stricken West or shipped to inhumane facilities in Mexico.

Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States, calls the practice barbaric and has said blocking a return to domestic horse “is an issue of national importance and scale.”

Man Gets 14-Year Sentence For Dog Death

Comments Off on Man Gets 14-Year Sentence For Dog Death

A Sarasota, Florida man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for the beating death of his boss’s dog. Kevin Koscielniak pleaded no contest to charges including animal cruelty and armed burglary.

John Olaya with Ashton as a puppy

Back in April, Koscielniak had been sent home from work at John’s Automotive for showing up intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The next morning, owner John Olaya called the sheriff’s office to report that his four-year-old mastiff named Ashton was missing.

Later in the day, he reviewed video surveillance footage and was horrified to see Koscielniak beat his dog to death with a tire iron.

The man had scaled a barbed wire fence, committed his heinous act and wrapped Ashton’s body in a blanket before burying him on an adjacent property.

Kevin Koscielniak – May you be plagued by your hateful sins for evermore!

Koscielniak was found and arrested by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with one count of cruelty to animals resulting in death, one count of improper disposal of dead animals, one count of tampering with evidence, two counts of burglary and one count for damage to the fence.

‚ÄúThis was a senseless act of violence indicative of a depraved mind,‚ÄĚ said state prosecutor Art Jackman.

He was sentenced to 14 years in prison, five years probation and he is prohibited from contacting Ashton‚Äôs owners. “Now that’s what I call justice!”

Four Puppies Bludgeoned To Death With Shovel

Comments Off on Four Puppies Bludgeoned To Death With Shovel

“WTF…seriously is there¬†any wonder¬†animal abuse is so rife, when they admit but still don’t go to jail?? This guy admitted doing this!! Lets prey the state¬†Attorney’s office will review this case, & throw the cold hearted bastard, preferably in a¬†10 Foot¬†pit of mud; or failing that, jail will do!!¬†Absolutely¬†Sickened¬†by this… Should someone like this, with the mind of a¬†psycho, allowed to roam free; amongst decent¬†caring¬†folk? Especially when they have admitted to killing innocent beings, in such a vulgar & barbaric way? No they shouldn’t, & heads should fxxxxxg role for this!”

MOON LAKE, Fla. – As a dog owner and adopter, Lori King couldn’t fathom the idea that someone could kill innocent puppies.¬†

And yet that’s what happened to four tiny pit bulls, just a few weeks old.¬†

King called the Pasco County sheriff’s office after finding out that the dogs had been buried in a shallow grave along Catalona Avenue in Moon Lake Estates.¬† Her boyfriend’s son, Martin Smith, owned the dogs.¬† Deputies said his friend, David Thompson, carried out the killings.

Investigators accused Thompson, 21, of beating the puppies with a shovel until they were dead.

Thompson was charged with animal cruelty and taken to the Land O’ Lakes jail.¬† Deputies said Smith helped bury the dogs, and admitted they were killed because he couldn’t afford to keep them anymore. “

“I asked them to dig them up and make sure they weren’t still alive, I was so upset,” said King.¬† “I would have done anything.¬† It did not have to happen.¬† It’s just terrible,” she said.

Animals are a way of life for many residents in Moon Lake.¬† Many wondered why the owner didn’t contact somebody or some group for help.

“Plenty of shelters around here,” said William Davidson, who owns multiple dogs and cats.¬† “They even got the dog pound running around here once a day and picking up little stray dogs,” Davidson said.

“I think it’s disgusting,” said Robyn Romero, ¬†whose¬†family owns several animals.¬† “How could you do that to an innocent little breathing creature?¬† I just can’t imagine,” she said.

Deputies didn’t charge Smith, even though he admitted to burying the dead dogs in the dirt.¬† The state attorney’s office will review the case and decide if additional charges should be filed.

Thompson was held on $5,000 bond. “Whoppee fxxxxxg do, stop wasting time & money with all this bail & bond bullshit, just throw their sick backsides into jail; until we come up with another way of confining these animal killers, so that they too…suffer!!!”

Acushnet, Mass. Police Investigate Animal Cruelty Case :Dead Pitbull Thrown Off Bridge In Plastic Bag

Comments Off on Acushnet, Mass. Police Investigate Animal Cruelty Case :Dead Pitbull Thrown Off Bridge In Plastic Bag

VIDEO TO FOLLOW – THIS SICK MF THAT DID THIS NEEDS CATCHING – BEFORE HE TOSSES MORE DOGS INTO THE RIVER!!

“Come on people think, somebody know’s who this is! Somebody who is hosting dog fights & who throws the dogs that lose or the bait dogs; out like garbage! Any information you may have, please tell the¬†Acushnet police or the¬†Acushnet Animal Control.”

(NECN: Jennifer Eagan, Acushnet, Mass.) – Acushnet police are investigating a disturbing case of animal cruelty after a dead dog was found in a black plastic bag Thursday.

According to officials, the dog, a 4-year-old female pitbull, was found after a witness reported seeing a white male on the Slocum Street bridge push a baby stroller with a black plastic bag in it, then throw the black plastic bag over the bridge and into the Acushnet River.

Police say the bag did not go into the river but landed on the bank, where the dead pitbull was found inside.

According to a Acushnet Animal Control officer, the injuries on the dog consisted of dog bites, appearing as though the dog was being used in dog fights.

Police say the suspect is again a white male, and is in his mid- to late-twenties, and was last see running into New Bedford from Slocum Street and then south on River Road.

Acushnet police are asking anyone with any information about the owner of the dog to contact them.

Pennington: No Foul Play Suspected In Case Of Dog Wrapped In Duct Tape

Comments Off on Pennington: No Foul Play Suspected In Case Of Dog Wrapped In Duct Tape

“Yet another dog, a mixed breed pointer; has fallen victim to the grey wrap known as duct tape. I’m sorry, I just don’t believe there is no foul play here! Who the hell would take the time to wrap a dog in duct tape, if it was just an animal they found dead; who carries duct tape round with them anyway?? Or are we supposed to believe it’s ¬†just in case they come across a dead animal…please!! If it was¬†someone’s¬†pet dog, why bind it with tape…why not just bury the dog in either there back yard, or have it cremated! It just doesn’t make sense, but what does ¬†make perfect sense to me, is that some sick bastard, perhaps even kids, committed this vile act; then just dumped the body!! That would explain why there was no abusive marks on the dogs body…it probably asphyxiated from the lack of oxygen & the constriction of the tape!!”

A dog that was wrapped “mummy-like” in duct tape likely did not die as a result of foul play, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Capt. Corey Brubakken said the dog was discovered Monday by a hunter near mile post 78 along S.D. Highway 44 on the bank of the Cheyenne River.

While baffled by the odd circumstances of seeing the dog wrapped in duct tape, Brubakken said he believes the animal was not killed.

“We’re looking into more identification on the dog and whether or not it had any injuries,” he said. “We don’t have a lot to go on and we don’t know the circumstances as to why it was wrapped in duct tape.”

The dog, a mixed-breed pointer, is estimated to have been between seven and nine years old and had no obvious signs of physical abuse, Brubakken said.

“We don’t know how it got there,” he said. “The dog may have expired and someone may have laid it there.”
