“WTF…this guy was already on psychiatric drugs…on probation…being treated for a mental illness. The girlfriend must have known, because she was scared of him, I just hope she didn’t leave him in charge of her daughter?? Don’t the Doctors who know these people are sick, have a duty to ensure they are not a threat to others & keep an eye on those that are a threat to society? Apparently not! He is a dangerous man, the kind that enjoys torturing a little puppy, to the point of death; in front of a minor! This sick bastard should never be let out to repeat this type of thing. Bet you in 5 years time his name comes up again for doing something heinous!! Yet another case for an “Animal Abuse Register”!

A Redwood City man accused of torturing and killing a puppy in front of his young daughter has pleaded no contest to animal abuse and child endangerment charges, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

On Friday, 32-year-old Alan Benjamin Velete was sentenced to two years in jail, in addition to a year in a residential rehabilitation treatment center, for the cruel acts which left his family’s puppy dead. In exchange for Friday’s plea, Alan Benjamin Velete, 32, won’t receive more than three years in prison. He also pleaded no contest to violating his probation for a 2011 felony assault conviction.

He was arrested Jan. 9 on charges that stem from a pattern of violence over several weeks against his family’s terrier puppy, named “Lucky,” that ended with the 4-month-old dog’s death, according to the district attorney’s office.

The abuse began after Velete and his daughter moved into the Redwood City apartment of his girlfriend’s mother in early December. The man became incensed after the puppy defecated on the floor and over several weeks he tortured the animal, including punching and kicking it, spraying household cleaner in its eyes, putting it in a duffel bag that was hung in a shower for hours, taping its mouth closed and feeding it his psychiatric drugs, according to the district attorney’s office. Much of the harm was done in front of his daughter.

His girlfriend and her mother later said they were too terrified of Velete to contact law enforcement, according to prosecutors. But after Velete killed the puppy, the mother anonymously called police.

Velete’s defense attorney, Naresh Rajan, said his client was being treated for mental illness at the time of the abuse and was under a lot of stress, and he has since “expressed all kinds of remorse” for his actions. While in county jail, he’s been receiving help through a counseling program.

“It’s horrible, it’s a 4-month old puppy,” Rajan said. “There’s no excuse, but he wasn’t thinking with a normal person’s mind.” ” Then why was he allowed into society???”

Baby Girl Is Mauled To Death By Pitbull: Neighbours Say They Warned Police Of The Danger As Couple Are Arrested

Comments Off on Baby Girl Is Mauled To Death By Pitbull: Neighbours Say They Warned Police Of The Danger As Couple Are Arrested

“How many times do we have to go over this; it’s the bloody owners that give this breed a bad rap! Irresponsible owner’s are one of the major causes for all the problems the breed faces today.  Pitbulls have long been selectively bred, over the years to be fighting machines, they are sturdy & strong with a powerful bite force; genetics & training play an important role in how the dog will respond to other dogs or humans. Pitbulls are not inherently aggressive to people; unless taught to be!

Some owners (Perhaps the boyfriend) just want a pitbull to use as a power status or for intimidating others; which is just an accident waiting to happen; and it did!  This tragedy could have been avoided had the owner been a responsible one & kept the dog under control; instead of it being allowed to roam freely around the house, whilst they watched TV? The mother must have been aware of the dogs temperamentt; why didn’t she insist the dog be put in a crate or a locked room; whenever the baby was around? No dog should be left unattended with children; especially babies!  The owner would have known, without doubt, what his dog was capable of doing; for that reason, I think they should both be held responsible for this terrible tragedy! • 11-month-old Ava-Jayne Corless attacked by pet late last night
  • Neighbours report seeing ‘vicious and terrifying’ pit bull type dog
  • Victim’s mother and stepfather arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and bailed this morning
  • Baby’s father pays tribute to ‘the most beautiful and adorable little girl’
  • Lancashire Police say dog involved in the attack was a banned breed

A baby girl was mauled to death by a dog that neighbours had allegedly warned was dangerous.

Ava-Jayne Corless, who was just 11 months old, suffered horrific injuries when the American pitbull terrier attacked her while she slept.

Her mother, Chloe King, 20, and  boyfriend Lee Wright, 26, heard the commotion and rushed upstairs to rescue her from the jaws of the beast.

Paramedics were called and took Ava-Jayne to hospital where doctors were unable to save her life.

Victim: Ava-Jayne Corless, aged 11 months, has been mauled to death by a pet dog

Miss King and Mr Wright were questioned on suspicion of manslaughter and child neglect, and were today released on bail.

Lancashire Police said: ‘The two people arrested in connection with the death of Ava-Jayne Corless at Blackburn have both been released on bail pending further inquiries.’

Parents: Ava-Jayne pictured with her father Dean and mother Chloe, who are no longer together

A police spokesman said last night that the animal was banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991.

Senior officers have launched an investigation into reports that neighbours had called Lancashire Constabulary to complain about dangerous animals at the property in Blackburn.

Faisal Shahzad, 35, fled after two dogs broke through his garden fence. ‘I had to run quickly into the house and barricade the door because they were tearing after me,’ said the taxi driver.

‘I’ve got three children and they were all in the house absolutely terrified. The two dogs were scary. I called the police and they said something would be done and my neighbour also called the RSPCA.’

Another neighbour, 80-year-old Brian Harrison, said: ‘That dog was a nightmare for neighbours and people were worried about approaching it.

‘It’s an absolute tragedy that should never have happened. ‘Only last year it mauled to death a neighbour’s cat and nothing was done about it.’

Kyle Perry, 19, was chased down the street by the dog. ‘It was a big dog and it used to just bark and bark,’ he said. ‘I have been chased by it down the street. It was terrifying.’

Blackburn MP Jack Straw said: ‘What will it take to convince people not to keep dogs like this – and to get across to all dog-owners, of every breed of dog, that no dog should ever be left unsupervised with a baby?’

The incident happened at around 11pm on Monday while Miss King was visiting Mr Wright at his home 40 yards from hers.

The pair are understood to have put the baby to sleep in a bedroom and were watching television downstairs when they heard the attack begin. By the time they reached Ava-Jayne she had suffered catastrophic injuries. The dog was destroyed.

Chief Superintendent Chris Bithell said previous contact with neighbours would form part of the police investigation.

Last night,  police said the dog had been identified by experts as a pitbull.
Owners cannot be prosecuted for dog attacks on private property until new legislation comes into force this spring.

Arrest: The victim’s stepfather Lee Wright is being questioned by police on suspicion of manslaughter

Tougher sentences will be introduced under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill.

Rachel Cunningham, of the Blue Cross animal charity, said: ‘We can only hope the Government’s planned changes to the bill will allow authorities to step in at the first sign of a dangerous dog and help prevent terrible events like this.’

Jennie Rudd, of animal welfare campaign group Naturewatch Foundation, said dog attacks were caused by irresponsible owners.

Danger: The dog was described as a ‘menace’ before the attack and previously killed a neighbour’s cat

She added: ‘If it has aggressive tendencies it is the owner’s responsibility to make sure it never gets near a child, and that it isn’t forced into situations where it feels it has to attack – because there is always a reason for a dog to bite.’

Last night Ava-Jayne’s father, Dean Corless, 24, said he was devastated by the tragedy: ‘I rushed to the hospital to see her straight away.

‘She was the most beautiful and adorable little girl, she was just the best. She was my  whole world. Her mum and I aren’t together any more, but I saw Ava-Jayne all the time. I will miss her every single day, I just don’t know what to do now.

‘It is just so tragic. I have my family around me now, but we are all devastated.’ The RSPCA confirmed the charity had been contacted after a dog at the address killed a neighbour’s cat. The death was treated as an accident with no action taken.

Man Charged With Possessing Pornographic Images of Bestiality

Comments Off on Man Charged With Possessing Pornographic Images of Bestiality

“Yet another pervert who is not content with harming animals to satisfy his lust, he indulges with children too! Seriously, I’ve thought about this a lot…we don’t need animal abuse registers, just add another page to the Paedophile Register; put their names on that. Seems it is often the case, where many who partake in the disgusting sick act of bestiality or enjoy abusing & hurting animals are one way or another, at some point in their sick lives; involved with criteria that means they are, or should be; put on the Paedophile Register!

“We know from history that many of the worlds worst criminals, started off abusing animals etc. The two are entwined to a certain degree; so why let history repeat it’self! Give the police a head start so they can keep an eye on those who have already hurt or abused animals & may just go on to commit a crime that warrants them being on the Paedophile Register!! “

A South Godstone man has appeared in court charged with 12 offences.

Bryan Vincent Thornhill, of Langham Road, is charged with five charges of possessing pornographic images of bestiality with a dog or horse, which was “grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character”.

He is also charged with one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

He is also charged with six further offences which were engaging in a sexual act, while in the presence of a child under the age of 13, for sexual gratification.

Thornhill, 59, pleaded not guilty to all counts at Guildford Crown Court today (Friday).

He was released on conditional bail, with conditions not to contact directly or indirectly a named child, or to go within 50m of a named school – unless agreed by social services.

He will next appear at the same court on October 21.

Maryland Child Behavioral Specialist Placed on Leave After Being Indicted on Bestiality Charges

Comments Off on Maryland Child Behavioral Specialist Placed on Leave After Being Indicted on Bestiality Charges

Jarrettsville, Maryland — A child behavioral specialist at a public school system in Maryland was recently indicted on bestiality charges after investigators allegedly found numerous video tapes at her home capturing her engaging in sexual acts with a dog.

Stephanie Mikles, 45, was placed on leave without pay this month by the Harford County Public School District after she was indicted in April for engaging in “unnatural and perverted sex practice.” According to reports, the allegations stem from incidents occurring in August 2008, which were not discovered until late last year. There is no statute of limitations involving the crime in the state.

A complaint against Mikles regarding a separate issue led to an official investigation by the child advocacy center, which resulted in the discovery of a number of videos. The shocking videos were then removed from the woman’s home and reviewed by investigators. Harford County States Attorney Joseph Cassilly told the Baltimore Sun that the footage “took a while to go through.”

“As a result of what they found, they placed the charges,” he said, noting that he believed the sexual acts occurred on “more than one instance.”

A grand jury then indicted Mikles of having “sexual intercourse with a dog,” according to court records and still photographs presumably taken from the videos.

Mikles was released on $5,000 bond following the indictment. She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine. The dog is stated to still live at the Mikles household.

Mikles has been working as a behavioral specialist for the past four years, providing strategies for helping children that struggle with abnormal behavior. She was moved to a non-instructional position late last year when the district became aware of the charges against her, then put on leave with pay following her indictment in April. This month, she was placed on leave without pay.

Moral Low Ground Ground Notes that Mikles’ case is not unique, but is rather one of a string of bestiality cases to come to light just this year.

“Last month, North Carolina animal shelter volunteer Seadon Collins Etienne Henrich of Zebulon was arrested and charged with four felony counts of crime against nature and three felony counts of disseminating obscenity for allegedly abusing dogs in his care and photographing the incidents,” it outlines. “In March, 38-year-old Derwayne Wesley Sharp of Greensboro, North Carolina was charged with raping a young girl and having sex with a dog, crimes that allegedly occurred at the same time back in 2005.”

“In February, 23-year-old Kara Vandereyk was arrested by Las Vegas police who witnessed her having sex with a pit bull in her backyard,” the report continues. “In January, Charles Ralph Horton, 57, of Cedar Springs, Michigan was charged with sodomy after allegedly raping a lab/shepherd mix on multiple occasions last year. Also in January, Milford, Delaware couple Samantha L. Golt, 24, and her 25-year-old boyfriend James P. Crow were arrested and charged with bestiality. Golt allegedly had sex with a dog while Crow is accused of filming the action.”

A scheduling conference will be held on May 20th regarding Mikles’ case as she remains under investigation.

Sick

Stephanie Mikles, 45, of the 1500 block of North Bend Road in Jarrettsville, was indicted April 16 in Harford County Circuit Court on a charge of unnatural and perverted sex practice, according to court records.

US Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Pet Peacock

Comments Off on US Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Pet Peacock

New York, May 12 (ANI): An Illinois man has been charged with animal cruelty after the cops, who were investigating him for a different crime, found out that he had sexually abused his pet peacock.

According to the Daily Herald, David Beckmann was billed at the DuPage County jail on Wednesday on separate allegations of battery and attempted indecent solicitation of a child, the New York Daily News reported.

Authorities asserted that they discovered the pet bird, Phyl, dead in the 64-year- old’s garage on April 28, although particulars about how and when the peacock died were still unclear.

The cops revealed to the publication that they could not talk about the animal cruelty charges because they relate to a case involving a child.

In addition to the animal cruelty charge, court records show that Beckmann faces three other charges of harassment by telephone, two counts of marijuana possession, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, attempted indecent solicitation of a child and two counts of battery. (ANI)
