An Arizona woman who allegedly confessed to her boyfriend that she has sex with dogs and fantasizes about incest has been charged with crimes against nature, police said. “Take a good look at that face below, she is someone you don’t want near your pets or children!!”

Brittany Angelique Sonnier, 20, is accused of committing “vaginal and oral sex with two canines” in Lake Havasu City, according to police Sgt. Joe Harrold. “Why hasn’t her child been taken into protective custody?”

“We received a report … alleging bestiality on the part of Brittany Sonnier. Our investigations bureau investigated the allegations and [then] forwarded a criminal complaint to the county attorney’s office,” Harrold told The Huffington Post.

Sonnier was arrested on November 21 and charged with bestiality. Those charges were later changed to two counts of “crime against nature.”

According to a copy of the police report provided to HuffPost, authorities were tipped off in September by a former boyfriend of Sonnier’s about her alleged illegal four-legged activities.

The ex-boyfriend, the report states, told police he had started dating Sonnier in March or April. The ex, whose name has been redacted from the police report, said Sonnier seemed, “like a nice, sweet and innocent girl.”

Sonnier’s ex told police things went well at first between the two and said he enjoyed spending time with both her and her 11-month-old son. However, during mid-summer the relationship changed, and their sex life began to slow down. It was around this time that Sonnier allegedly approached him and asked if they could “talk.”

“They sat down and Brittany used his phone to look some things up,” the police report states. “He expected Brittany to ask if they could have a threesome or if he wanted to be a swinging couple. He would have been fine with either of those things — he is very open.”

The photos, however, indicated different interests, police said.

“Instead, Brittany started to show him pictures of people having sex with animals,” the report states. “She told him that she was interested and into having sex with dogs. She went on to tell him that she has been having sex with their family dogs since she was 13 years old.”

The report states one of the dogs is about 13 and the other is just a couple of years old. They are not identified by breed, but are described as “medium size” dogs in the police report.

The police report further alleges that Sonnier told her boyfriend that she has had “vaginal and oral sex with the dogs” and has trained the animals so they “don’t act strange” around other people. “So that’s how zoophiles can stay undetected, when it’s their pets they are abusing!!”

Sonnier also allegedly said she was into incest and pulled up images on the phone of a family of cartoon characters having sex, police said.

The ex-boyfriend told police he was “disturbed and freaked out” and said he told Sonnier “she was disgusting.” The two broke up shortly thereafter. “She still is disgusting!”

Sonnier’s ex told police he first approached her father and informed him of her alleged bizarre sexual preferences. Sonnier’s dad, according to the police report, allegedly told him that his daughter had in the past admitted to him that “she has been having sex with the family dogs.” Her dad also allegedly said he is in the process of trying to gain custody of his grandson. “When these allegations come out in court, I am hopeful the Judge will make sure the child’s safety is of paramount importance, & place him in the most protective custodial hands!” 

We are talking about an innocent child here; who must be protected at all costs!! It begs the question, why didn’t they think to report her disturbing behaviour; having admitted to her dad about having sex with the dogs??

The ex-boyfriend told police he suspects Sonnier is pregnant with his child, but said she has refused to take a pregnancy test. He said that, if she is pregnant, he wants her to get help. “I hope to God she isn’t, but if she is; serious questions should be asked about her mental stability & ability to keep said child! Just having mentioned the word ‘Incest’ when one has children should set off alarm bells ringing, to the safety of the child!” 

Further allegations by her ex-boyfriend in the police report read:

• She is a sex addict and he thinks she will be an unfit parent.
•  He suspects Brittany started to have sex with animals when she was younger because she couldn’t find a partner.
• He is worried about the child Brittany might be carrying.

Neither Sonnier, her ex-boyfriend nor her father responded to calls and emails requesting comment from The Huffington Post.

According to a Facebook page attributed to Sonnier, (Yes her Face book is still live) she is a 2010 graduate of South View High School in Hope Mills, North Carolina. Under “favourite quotations” Aurdey Hepburn is listed, with the following quote, “I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.”

Harrold told police Sonnier is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5. It was not immediately clear Thursday if she has an attorney to represent her.

“In 2006 Arizona reintroduced a law making it illegal to have sex with an animal, dead or alive.”

Man Accused Of Abusing Puppy On GG Bridge

“POS…I would like to swing him by a rope!”

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE (KGO) — A 23-year-old transient from San Rafael is in the Marin County Jail on suspicion of kicking, dragging, and swinging a 10-week-old puppy from a leash on the Golden Gate Bridge.

He was arrested Thursday night after bridge police saw him kicking and dragging the puppy on the walkway.

Golyer is charged with felony cruelty to an animal, and could face prison time and a fine.

The puppy is at the Marin Humane Society animal shelter in Novato. A spokesperson for the shelter says the puppy is in “guarded condition” with “traumatic pulmonary contusions,” or lung bruising.

Man pleads guilty in bestiality case

PHOENIX — A Mesa man has admitted to using the website Craigslist.com to try to have sex with a dog.

Craig James Naylor, 47, entered a guilty plea Thursday to a charge of conspiracy to commit bestiality. He is due back in court on November 16 for sentencing.

Naylor was arrested back in August following an undercover operation by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies came in contact with Naylor through Craigslist, and spent two months exchanging emails about a dog.

Naylor eventually agreed to meet up with deputies to have sex with the dog, but he was arrested before the animal was brought into the room.

Naylor isn’t the only person who has used Craigslist to try to commit bestiality.

Several people have been arrested and convicted in the past two years for using the website to locate animals.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has written letters to Craigslist’s CEO asking that the company work harder to make sure that people aren’t using the site to commit illegal acts.

Victory For Greyhounds: Tucson Bans Steroids, Thwarting Race Track

Tucson  AZ has joined South Tucson and banned the use of anabolic steroids within city limits.

Tucson Dog Protection was instrumental in getting the ban passed. According to their chairwoman Susan Via, injecting these steroids into females can cause liver and genital damage/deformities, infections of the genitals and shortens their lives. 

The Tucson Greyhound Park is located in South Tucson and that city has already banned the use of steroids for the racing dogs. To get around this issue, the dogs were taken to Tucson and legally injected there by the track veterinarian.

The Tucson Greyhound Park CEO and General Manager Tom Taylor defends the use of steroids as effective birth control for females. Every (veterinarian) I have worked with said it is a medication,” Taylor said. “If administered properly, it does what it is supposed to do” and nothing else. “It’s what’s best for the dogs,” Taylor said. “And we will always do what’s best for the dogs.”

Many in Tucson disagree. Between 2005 and 2006 the park reportedly lost 140 dogs, it is assumed by a hauler. In 2010 eight dogs died from the heat on their way to Tucson. Greyhound activists have shown footage of dogs being crammed into dark, small cages and fed meat that is rated 4D, and should not be consumed.

Greyhound activists and others would like to end dog racing in Arizona completely. Banning anabolic steroid use is a step in the right direction.

Drifter who skinned cat, wore its tail sentenced to two years in prison

“OMG…praise the lord… hallelujah… a judge who did the right thing…no stupid probation or suspended sentence…an animal abuser ‘Who passed go & went straight to prison’…we need more like him, other states need the same statutes too. PHOENIX — An Arizona drifter who skinned a cat and wore its tail and innards around his neck was sentenced to two years in prison on Wednesday.

An Arizona Superior Court judge also sentenced Russell Christopher Hofstad, 25, to four years probation on his release, the Maricopa County Attorney’s office said.

Hofstad pleaded no contest last month to a felony animal cruelty charge and guilty to a burglary charge.

According to the criminal complaint, police arrested Hofstad in January after he broke into a Phoenix warehouse used as a music venue.

Cops: Man skinned and ate cat, used tail as necklace

Officers found the skinned and gutted remains of a cat inside, and Hofstad wearing the cat’s tail and a piece of its “internals” around his neck on a rope, with his face painted.

Police said he had eaten parts of the cat, while some of its other internal organs were kept in a cooler.

Hofstad told police he had recently been released from jail and had nowhere to live.

He said he had not eaten in a few days, so he hit the cat with a stick and then stabbed it.

He planned to stuff the animal and save the skeleton “for a decoration for a party.”

Death by canine profiling

Humans have been racially profiled by authorities since the judicial system was put in place; now dogs are being profiled just as humans have been, and these dogs are sentenced to death because of their looks.

Tony an 8 year old pit bull, sharpie mix from Arizona, was euthanized last month after judge Grace Nabors handed down his death sentence with a “smirk on her face,” according to Trish Snow, Kelley Wales and Jennifer Randell, the friends of Michelle Dozier, Tony’s owner, they were at Tony’s sentencing supporting Dozier and Tony.

In 2011 a neighbor accused Tony of killing her 14 year old Chihuahua, according to the veterinarians report the Chihuahua did have deep puncture wounds to the abdomen which led to its death. Because of Tony’s age, his canines had all been broken so he could not leave deep puncture wounds.

Judge Nabors ignored all evidence the defense presented because of Tony’s pit bull, sharpie mix, she found him guilty before the trial could start.

According to Snow, “From the moment the hearing began, the judge, literally, had a smirk on her face when the attorney was pleading Tony’s case. I knew what the verdict would be in the first five minutes, I’m sorry to say. I ran out of the courtroom prior to the attorney, basically, calling out the judge on her unfairness. The attorney was angry because the injustice in the air was so thick you could have cut it with a knife!”

King a 3 year old pit bull from Noblesville, Indiana was accused by the family’s neighbor of attacking her dog. The veterinarian could not find any damage or wounds to her dog. After the neighbor kept calling authorities, Kings Owners were fined and had to appear before a judge.

According to King’s Owner, “The judge said that, all pit bulls are born vicious and will always be vicious and no amount of evidence I could bring him would prove otherwise. He gave me the maximum fine, ordered me to pay her bogus vet bills and the court costs, and has the intension to euthanize King. He gave me 90 days from June 13th, to prove king is no threat, however he said if any incident occurred again he would kill him.” King’s owner went on to state “He considers an incident anything my neighbor says happens even with zero proof.”

Breed Specific dog laws (BSL) is just another way of canine profiling and is becoming a worldwide problem that is growing at an alarming rate.

Duke an 18 month old dog, was taken from his owner Jon Smilie. The police seized Duke because of the way he looks.

In Australia two young family dogs called Bear and Kooda, were deemed to be Pit Bulls by authorities and seized September of last year and put to their deaths last month. Nathan Laffan and Samantha Graham lost their fight to save their two dogs. The two beloved pets were put down because of the way they looked.

In the recent and most famous case of BSL profiling, Lennox the dog from Northern Ireland, was found guilty by the Belfast City Council (BCC) for no other charge than the way he looked. Lennox was imprisoned for two years and the BCC would not allow his family any contact even on the day the BCC killed him.

The cases of BSL and the profiling of authorities, even when there is no breed specific legislation in place, could fill the Library of Congress. There is no large or medium breed of dog safe when it comes to canine profiling, and your dog could be the next one that is profiled.

Cat found buried alive in concrete in Arizona; rescuer alleges religious harassment

” I posted all this through tears, thinking of that little kitty, trying to breathe whilst the concrete set around his frail little body. They got him out, but the little guy didn’t make it. I am so dam angry, if it’s been done before with animals, why have the police not done anything about it?”

A live cat was found half-buried in concrete in Arizona, an act that the man who rescued it believes to be a threatening message from a pro-polygamy religious group, according to local reports.

The kitten was found encased in solid concrete inside a metal tube in Colorado City, Ariz., a major center for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a breakaway Mormon sect whose members practice polygamy.

In previous incidents, dead cats have been left on ex-FLDS member Isaac Wyler’s property, according to Andrew Chatwin, who discovered the trapped feline while he was building a horse shelter at Wyler’s home.

“It’s been going on for years,” Chatwin, also a former FLDS member, told the video site Right This Minute, “and I’ve recorded up to a dozen dead cats put into his horse corral. I’ve recorded dead animals put into his truck.”

In a video, shot by Chatwin on May 31 and posted to YouTube on July 1, the cat is seen buried up to its head in concrete, crying out in pain. Chatwin said he had to cut through the metal tube and is then seen chipping away bits of concrete around the animal’s body with a hammer.

Mangled and emaciated but still breathing, the freed feline was taken to an animal sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, where it died a few days later.

Both Wyler and Chatwin have spoken publicly against the church and its former controversial leader, Warren Jeffs.

Jeffs was convicted last year of two felony counts for sexually assaulting two underage girls he had married. He is currently serving a life sentence plus 20 years at a prison in Palestine, Texas, but is said to still maintain control of the FLDS-run communities.

Chatwin, who has frequently been at odds with the church since leaving it 13 years ago, said he believes the act was done by FLDS members in an effort to force ex-church members out of town.

“We’ve in the past experienced a lot of hostility from the FLDS,” Chatwin said. “It was a message sent to Isaac Wyler to try and intimidate him.”

Chatwin said he reported the incident to the Colorado City Marshal’s Office.

“[The officer] kind of chuckled and laughed a bit, and then he said that if it was up to him, he’d just throw dirt over [the cat],” Chatwin said. “And this is coming from a city marshal that’s in the FLDS Church.”

Trish Carter, public information specialist at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office told msnbc.com that her office was notified of the incident on May 31, but did not respond because it was under the jurisdiction of the Colorado City Marshal’s Office.

“We often investigate cases of animal cruelty, but they were in charge of it, so we didn’t respond,” Carter said.

The Sheriff’s Office took over patrols in Colorado City last week from the Marshal’s Office at the state’s behest.

“Through the attorney general’s office, we now have partrols in the area, and anything that’s reported to our agency we are taking seriously,” Carter said.

Neither the FLDS or the Colorado City Marshal’s Office responded to inquiries from msnbc.com.

The incident occurred just weeks before the U.S. Justice Department sued Colorado City, Ariz., and Hildale, Utah, alleging religious discrimination against non-FLDS members, claiming the cities have been violating the federal Fair Housing Act, depriving non-sect members of their constitutional rights.

AZ Dog survives being thrown from moving vehicle

PHOENIX (CBS5) –

A puppy thrown from a moving vehicle is getting a new lease on life, thanks to an Maricopa County animal rescue group.

Here is Juno in Helping Orphaned Hounds’ care.

The puppy, named Juno, suffered two broken elbows and severe road rash after she was tossed from a moving car.

The dog was within a mere two hours of being euthanized when the group Helping Orphaned Hounds claimed her and took her in.

“They gave us a brief window of two hours because it was inhumane to keep her without pain management,” Helping Orphaned Hounds spokesman Jason Rieker said.

Funding for Juno’s care will come from the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition’s Lulu‘s Angel Fund.

The fund was created earlier this year to help pay for treatment in severe animal neglect or abuse cases.

Allergen concerns prompt turkey burger recall

TURLOCK, Calif.

Misbranding and an undeclared allergen prompted a recall of 15,040 lbs. of turkey burger product from Foster Farms, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The product contains a seasoning mix with hydrolyzed soy protein, a known allergen that was not declared on the label. FSIS uncovered the problem during a routine label review, the agency said, “…and occurred as a result of the company receiving a spice mix from its supplier after an ingredient reformulation request by the company to have the hydrolyzed soy ingredient removed.

“The reformulation included soy, which was not declared on the turkey burger label,” according to FSIS.

Neither FSIS nor Foster Farms has received any reports of illness or adverse reactions from consumption of the product. The turkey burger was produced on various dates between Dec. 28, 2011, and May 10, 2012, and was sold for institutional use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Dog euthanized after machete attack; man arrested for animal cruelty

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was arrested Wednesday on animal cruelty charges after police say he hit a neighbor’s dog with a machete.

Too gravely injured to be save and it was euthanized.

The 1-year-old pit bull named Armani was transported to the Arizona Humane Society where it was determined the dog was too gravely injured to be save and it was euthanized.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Terry Lee Hubbard’s live-in girlfriend had been taking items out to her car when she was allegedly attacked by the dog. She returned to her apartment and told Hubbard, who grabbed a 2-1/2-foot machete and left the apartment.

Officer James Holmes said Hubbard, 48, chased the dog through the apartment complex. At one point, he began yelling to Armani to “come on, come on” and the dog turned toward him. At that time, Hubbard struck the dog on the head with the machete.

AHS veterinarians discovered multiple fractures to the dog’s skull and surrounding areas, exposed brain tissue, torn muscles and his eye had popped out.

Based on Hubbard’s account of the incident and statements from witnesses, officers determined that the woman had not been injured in any way by the dog.

“Mr. Hubbard made the conscious choice to leave his apartment, chase the animal and, when the animal turned on him, strike the animal with the machete,” Holmes said.

Police said Hubbard had been having an ongoing dispute with the dog’s owner about it being loose in their apartment complex near Roosevelt and Seventh streets.

Hubbard had been bitten by the dog in April and there was a loose animal complaint from him on May 5. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control said the dog was quarantined for the April bite and was properly registered and licensed.

Hubbard was arrested for animal cruelty and booked into jail.

The Arizona Humane Society released a picture of the injured dog.
