A woman convicted in July of burglary and animal cruelty was sentenced to five years in prison for the beating of her in-laws’ 14-year-old dog. “AT Last a Judge with balls…a lady too!”

Evita Williams is also to serve five years of probation, attend anger-management classes, undergo psychological, drug and alcohol evaluation and not own pets.

Ginger R.I.P

The incident occurred in July of 2011. Evita broke into her in-laws’ home and broke the lock on the Williams’ bedroom door where they kept Ginger, a 14-year-old lab mix.

Ginger was already in declining health, as she was deaf and struggled with her back legs. Evita muzzled Ginger and took her out in the backyard.

She covered Ginger with a blanket and then beat the dog with an aluminium softball bat. She then dumped Ginger’s body in the garbage.

Apparently Evita’s motive for beating Ginger was due to problems with her estranged husband and the fact that Ginger had nipped her 4-year-old son a few months prior.

A jury took an hour to convict Evita of burglary and animal cruelty back in July. Prosecutor Stacey Salmons said, “To do something so violent and so vicious to the animal [suggests] the potential to do something violent and vicious to a person.

Fresh horror at zoo where animals were ‘clubbed to death’ as it is revealed they were then ‘fed to Polish park workers’

Comments Off on Fresh horror at zoo where animals were ‘clubbed to death’ as it is revealed they were then ‘fed to Polish park workers’

  • Swedish zoo clubbed animals to death in a bid to save on veterinary costs
  • Guest workers from Eastern Europe were fed farm animals from the park, killed inside the zoo
  • Two lion cubs starved to death in 2011, because staff were not allowed to bottle feed them

A zoo where keepers killed animals using baseball bats and crowbars – in a bid to save on veterinary fees – has now been accused of feeding parts of the dead creatures to Polish guest workers.

Former employees at the park revealed the horrific living conditions of the animals at Ölands Animal and Amusement Park in Sweden earlier this week, but now it seems the atrocious treatment extend to the staff as well.

Employees at the popular tourist attraction were forced to work under ‘slave like’ conditions and were fed goats, hens and even a pig that had been put down at the park.

One worker, identified as Anna, said: ‘Sometimes we would give the animals a small injection afterwards. If there was an inspection no one would notice that they had been put down the wrong way. They often kill goats with a simple knife to the throat.’

Guest workers from Poland and Bulgaria work in the zoo over the summer and live in cramped conditions close to the park, located on the popular tourist island in the Baltic sea.

Animal carer Mats told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: ‘People say the animals are treated badly, but if they only knew what the situation is like for the employees.

‘The guest staff work under slave-like conditions, 12 hours a day, seven days a week, with no entitlement to sick leave or days off. Those who complain have to take the return bus back home.’

Food is included in the contract and Niclas, another former employee, revealed that the guest workers were fed animals that had been put down in the park, giving examples of a goat and hens.

He reveals he once butchered a pig at the zoo to give the workers meat, adding: ‘They were so hungry and hadn’t had any nutritious food for weeks.’

Anna added: ‘They often had to eat monkey food. Old bread and old fruit which had been donated to the park by local grocers on the island, or nearby Kalmar on the mainland.’

The stories from behind the cheery facade of the zoo, which welcomes visitors with a sign of two playing chimpanzees, has horrified and sickened the nation and animal lovers worldwide.

Torture: When the mother of four lion cubs stopped feeding them, two of them starved to death before staff was allowed to bottle feed the other two

On Wednesday Pia Westen, 19, revealed that the park had refused to let carers bottle feed a litter of lion cubs ignored by their mother.

Two of them starved to death before carers were allowed to feed the other two.

Staff were ordered to hide the suffering lion cubs behind tarpaulin sheets, with Westen saying: ‘[Supervisors] didn’t want visitors seeing them lying there, dying. The animal caretakers really wanted to save them but they weren’t allowed until two of them had starved to death.

Caroline Ryding worked at the park for two months in 2011 and claims she quit her job after witnessing ‘permanent maltreatment of the animals’.

She said: ‘A coati – a Brazilian aardvark – was beaten to death with a baseball bat or a crowbar. And we were told afterwards not to tell the zoo vet.’

‘They had no room for them and couldn’t afford a vet. The owners told us not to say anything because what they did was illegal.

Last year the company made a £1.2m profit and the park’s director Barbro Hägg has been given an estimated £2.4m in salary and shares in the past five years.

Zoo spokesman Hans Uhrus claimed the care was of high standard and that the zoo was regularly checked by vets and the County Administration Board.

He said: ‘We always take great care in dealing with our animals. We have regular controls of our business under the animal protection act through inspections. The board has received no complaints regarding the park.’

This claim was backed up by the park’s veterinarian Karl Johan Nordfelt.

He said: ‘As the park’s veterinary surgeon I visit the park at least once a week to see the animals and how they are kept.

‘The animals’ well-being is checked every day by the staff on site and I control how they are kept during my regular visits.

‘I have nothing to comment on regarding the care of the animals in the park.’

The animal park, on the Baltic island of Öland, off Sweden’s east coast, is home to around 650 animals of over 100 different species.

Doctor Accused Of Torturing, Killing Dog

Comments Off on Doctor Accused Of Torturing, Killing Dog

“One would think a man of this standing would have a more caring nature; being in his line of work… apparently not! This man is vile, evil & needs to be locked away for a long time!”

Dr. Isaias Lerner, a cardiologist who works with the South Broward Physicians Group in Coconut Creek, has been charged with one count of animal cruelty with intent to kill.

On Thursday, police were called to Lerner’s home on East Broadview Drive on Bay Harbor Island. According to the arrest report, one witness told the officer that they saw Lerner hitting a dog tied to a tree over the head with a hammer.

A second witness told police, at one point, Lerner stabbed the dog in the head around its ear and throat area with a screw driver. The doctor allegedly moved the screw driver around in a grinding manner as the dog yelped in pain and what looked like brain matter dripped from its head.

The dog then slumped to the ground and died.

During questioning, Lerner reportedly admitted that he struck the dog a number of times on the head with a hammer. He said the dog ‘wobbled for a while then passed away’, according to the report.

Lerner was arrested. Bond was set at $5,000.

Conway man arrested on two counts felony animal cruelty

Comments Off on Conway man arrested on two counts felony animal cruelty

Conway police arrested Michael Woole, 1555 East German Lane, on two felony counts of animal cruelty Tuesday.

Woole, 34, was the suspect in the possible death of two dogs beaten over the head repeatedly with a baseball bat, according to the Conway Police Department.

Michael Woole

A neighbor and witness called police Thursday of last week when he allegedly saw Woole beating the dogs in a pen at his home.

According to the witness, when he approached Woole at the time of the incident, Woole stated he was “putting the dogs down.”

A CPD incident report stated the witness told police he saw Woole load the dogs into the back of a truck and leave the area.

In an interview with police, Woole stated he was not beating the dogs, but used a shovel to usher the dogs into another pen, according to La Tresha Woodruff, CPD public information officer.

Woodruff said an animal welfare officer who responded to the scene took photos of blood inside and around the pen.

In the interview, Woole denied striking the animals or causing them to bleed, Woodruff said.

Formal charges were filed against Woole by Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland Tuesday.

The two counts of animal cruelty are class D felonies, punishable up to six years in prison.

“The way the statute is written, you have to engage in some pretty egregious behavior before it reaches the level of felony animal cruelty, and the use of a baseball bat to beat the animals to death, we feel certainly rises to the level of activity that would warrant a felony charge,” said Hiland.

The act allowing felony charges for cruelty to animals was passed in 2009 and applies to horses, dogs and cats.

Hiland said the animals have to be tortured for the felony status to apply, as defined by the statute.

Woole was released on a $5,000 bond the day he was arrested. His court date is September 17.

North Limoeiro, BrazilHuston Texas news reported today about an incident caught on this shocking video of a man killing a dog in vegetation off the road.

The dog soon dies after repeated fatal blows by the killer while both the man and the son videotaping the murder laugh as if enjoying the act.

In a statement on a Portugese blog site, it stated “the incident happened in North Limoeiro and the man who killed the dog in the video has been identified by the police; however, they are not revealing his identity and are calling him the alias “Antonio Medeiros.” The blog also tells that the clubbing of the dog was just “for fun”.

The dog is said to be owned by a lady named Ivone Maria of Pond Carnaúbas who reported this brutal attack on the 23rd, after identifying the dead body of her pet. Ivone Maria went to the civil police in North Limoeiro to file a complaint against her neighbor, who according to her account was the one committed the horrid act.

The police official in North Limoeiro are showing no signs of interest in arresting the man or his son. Ivone Maria has not been able to receive justice for the death of her beloved pet.

After the video of the brutal killing was released on several social sites and blogs, the citizens are demanding the police arrest the man in the video.

To this date the killer is still at large and even though the police know the man’s identity have not made an arrest.
