“There are some evil sadistic people on this planet, that should not be able to breathe the same air as decent folk. I certainly hope they are found & get what they deserve!”

A PUPPY ‘tortured’ in Limerick has found a new home in England.

The public have raised over €3,400 for George, a five-month-old Terrier, to pay for veterinary operations. He was rescued by Limerick Animal Welfare (LAW) after being thrown over a wall in Southill.

George had a broken pelvis, an untreated eye injury, both hips broken, ear tips cut off, burns to his stomach and his whiskers singed off.

LAW’s Kilfinane sanctuary manager, Marie Quirke said he had been “tortured so badly that he is terrified of people.” In the past three weeks he has been nursed back to health by LAW staff.

“George came home on Saturday from Noah Veterinary Clinic in Baldoyle where orthopaedic surgeon Billy McCartney performed an operation on both his hips to stabilise them using pins. He will need to be on strictly confined rest for four weeks to allow the healing process to work. He is on antibiotics and pain relief. Little George will need to have check-ups with John O’Dwyer, a vet in Henry Street to make sure everything is going well,” said Marie, who wished to thank Mr McCartney, all at Noah, Mr O’Dwyer and everyone who contributed to George’s veterinary care fund on their Facebook page.

“Any money over and above the cost of George’s treatment will go towards two other dogs in our care who also need expensive operations to injuries sustained in road traffic accidents,” said Marie.

After a terrible start to life for George is going to live in the lap of luxury for the rest of his days in England.

Animal lover, Coral Plunkett, got in touch with LAW.

“Having read the cruelty this little man suffered and the battle to recover which faced him I didn’t think twice. I contacted LAW and offered him a home with Matt, Connie and Hannah, also adopted from LAW.

“After speaking with Marie there was no hesitation on my part in naming him George, after St George. Unfortunately George is one of many, you could say he is one of the lucky ones.

The work undertaken by LAW is just amazing and they are totally reliant on the generosity of people, so to have raised over €3,000 for George is just fantastic. Offering your heart and your home to a rescue animal is one of the best investments you will ever make, it will be repaid with love, loyalty and commitment,” said Coral.

There is another horrifying case of animal abuse in Baltimore City — a dog with severe injuries, left to die inside of an abandoned home.

But the dog survived, and is now recovering with the help of the BARCS animal shelter.

Animal control officers brought her to the shelter on Thursday, where workers named her “Molly.”

“I walked out and saw her to do her intake and I just immediately started crying,” said Lisa Morabito of BARCS, who will serve as Molly’s foster caretaker.

“If anyone has any information that can help shed light on what happened, or who the dog belongs to; please contact the BARCS shelter”

There are fresh bite wounds on the animal’s face and paws, all of them deep and infected.

“She has wounds down here on her paws, he ear is ripped in half,” Morabito said.

There’s also skin missing on both of the dog’s sides, with infection causing those areas to bulge out.  Still, there’s a better than 50-percent chance that Molly will survive.

“Her main thing is the severity of the infection that has spread all throughout her body.  She is losing layers of skin that is just sloughing off right now,” Morabito said.

The dog needs antibiotics, cream for her wounds — and rest.

“There’s kind of a lot of bite wounds and trauma around her eye, so we’re not sure whether she’ll be able to keep it or not but we’re going to try,” Morabito said.

The dog was found in an abandoned home in the 2400 block of Christian Street, not far from the West Side Shopping Center.

A contractor entered the home to begin rehabbing it and found the dog in the basement, tied up on a leash. They left her there in this condition,” Morabito said.

Animal Control is now trying to find out who left her there.  Morabito says it’s one of the worst cases of animal abuse she’s ever seen.

“I get upset thinking about it. It’s, you don’t know how anyone could do something like that to a dog,” Morabito said.

Is Molly the victim of a dog-fighting operation?

BARCS officials aren’t sure – it’s a possibility, but it could also be that she and another dog simply fought, and the owner decided to abandon her in that basement.

Blood Soaked Puppy, Found Wandering Streets With Horrific Bites & Burns – Bait Pup

Comments Off on Blood Soaked Puppy, Found Wandering Streets With Horrific Bites & Burns – Bait Pup

From ‘SAVE AURORA’ Face-Book page

Today TAF was called by Diane, the shelter manager at the Animal Welfare League’s Wabash facility, about a severely burned dog who had been used as bait. The blood soaked puppy was found walking down the street by police in the Englewood area of Chicago. Bridgid, from Project Rescue Chicago, went down to AWL and picked up the puppy, taking him straight to our vet at Animal Care Center of Chicago.

Bridgid sent me photos of a 2-3 month old puppy as soon as she met him. When I received the photos my eyes welled up with tears and anger filled my heart. I’m quite honestly so sick of receiving abuse cases day in and day out with no end in sight. Some friends of mine say people are afraid of me because I’m too direct, “bitchy,” and at times a bit anti-social. Well…this is why. You can’t help but have your personality tainted when you deal with the end result of horrific acts of cruelty all the time. Sometimes it is just too much.

This puppy was, without a doubt, used as a bait dog. He has bite wounds all over his body. However, these wounds are the least of his worries. His face was burned either by an accelerant/fire combo or some other chemical. As of tonight Dr Hartwig has stabilized the puppy. The puppy is on IV fluids, the highest level of pain medication possible and antibiotics.

Once hydrated, the puppy will be heavily sedated and his dead flesh and scabs cut away from his healthy skin. The puppy will be hospitalized in isolation for at least 10 days. This will allow the vet staff to monitor his overall health as well as observe him for symptoms of parvo. Until then, we will make sure he is as comfortable as possible. When we left him this evening, puppy was curled up on a comfy blanket, resting peacefully.

If you want to help this poor puppy, please consider making a donation towards his medical care. If you visit www.trioanimalfoundation.org and click donate you will see the options.

Please say a prayer for our little puppy, that his pain is eased and he makes it through the coming days.

“After all humans have done to him, he still manages to wag his tail, he make little noises toward the end of the video, like he is trying to say ‘Thank you’….Just hear-breaking….I know what I would like to do to the heartless sadistic reprobates!!

GRAPHIC: UPDATED PHOTOS OF BURNED BAIT PUPPY

Our vets at Animal Care Center called us early this morning to let us know the puppy is holding steady, eating and moving around. Puppy slept peacefully, likely safe and warm for the first time in his life.

Confident that he would tolerate being sedated, the vets were able to remove the dead tissue that had been burned, as well as the scabs. We visited him this morning right after they finished caring for him and took these photos.

His skin is still extremely sensitive and bleeds with the slightest touch. They confirmed that in addition to the bite wounds and burns, puppy also has a case of demodectic mange and a serious intestinal parasite load.

Our vets are going to keep him under light sedation while they continue to treat the raw wounds that are on his head.

He will continue to receive IV fluids, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and pain medication. Dr Sachdev, his doctor today, let us know that Dr Hartwig, the first vet who cared for him, came in early this morning, on his day off, to check on our little puppy.

Dr Sachdev said she could hear the puppy’s tail hitting the sides of his kennel when he saw Dr Hartwig…I think he has a new buddy.

Puppy with horrific injuries discovered along road in Texas

Comments Off on Puppy with horrific injuries discovered along road in Texas

Sometimes bad things happen to good dogs. Thankfully, sometimes those victimized dogs are discovered, and helped, by good people. A puppy named Bubba has encountered both.

According to Karen Holland, Rescue Director of Chance’s Haven, 6-month-old Bubba was discovered along Main Street in Everman, Texas on May 5.

Gilbert Salas, the animal control officer who discovered the puppy, quickly realized that something was terribly wrong and whisked the puppy to an emergency veterinary clinic. Here, Salas learned the horrible truth about what this puppy had endured.

According to the veterinarian, Bubba’s wounds, which include a broken hip, three fractures to his rear legs and multiple bite wounds, are consistent with those of a bait dog.

It is believed that Bubba’s legs were intentionally broken in order to render him immobile, making it easier for other dogs to attack him. Bubba’s injuries were so severe that the emergency veterinarian recommended euthanasia.

But Bubba’s story did not end at the clinic. Thankfully, his last moments alive were not shrouded by violence and unimaginable pain.

Instead, Chance’s Haven, a 501(c)3 organization, was contacted and the rescue agreed to take on Bubba; despite the knowledge that doing so would come at a huge expense.

Yesterday, Bubba underwent surgery for his multiple fractures at an orthopedic specialist in Pilot Point, Texas. He is currently sporting multiple plates and screws in his legs, but overall, his prognosis is good.

Those who have learned about Bubba’s horrific ordeal have been following his story closely on Facebook. Dozens have already contributed funds to help the rescue organization pay for Bubba’s extensive surgery.

Unfortunately, though the amount raised so far is admirable, it falls short by thousands.

Bubba has a long road ahead of him thanks to the cruelty of individuals mired in the ugly world of dog-fighting. Thankfully, he has landed in the arms of compassionate people who are working hard to undo the considerable wrongs that he has been forced to endure in his short life.
