Poor guy was found in the middle of the road last night. On antibiotics and antihistamines. Not sure how much he can see or hear. Hardly any teeth. Blind in left eye, was covered in faeces and matted hair, teeth are in bad shape, maybe 5 pounds and very old.

He is blind in one eye that may need an enucleation. He is not completely blind, but may possibly have diminished vision in the other eye.

Please help him find the home he so deserves, either directly or thru a rescue, where he can part of a family and receive some TLC that he clearly has not had in a very long time. Anyone who has ever known a vision diminished, or even blind dog, will tell you that once acclimated, you forget they have any eye issues at all and they are the same loving dogs, if not more so, as the fully sighted! “I can confirm this, with my dog; please please share with everyone!”

He is at a high risk of being euthanized in the Baton Rouge, La shelter. He’s very friendly, appears house trained because he keeps his kennel clean. He was found as a stray with a jewel studded collar. No one claimed him. I held him and he was so calm.This is all the information we have. We are networking; we do not have this sweet pup, nor, unfortunately, are we able to help with transport. I have a Yorkshire Terrier who had to have both eyes removed within 1 month of each other. We took him to the vets numerous times, saying he just didn’t seem right; as an owner who loves their dog, one knows if & when something is wrong!! However, the vet kept telling us he just had infections, which he was treated for.

Two years ago on Christmas Eve, we knew something was seriously wrong with Harry; so we rushed him to the vet. His retina had detached & the pressure in his eye was so high, he must have felt like his head was about to burst. He went straight into theatre, there was nothing they could do, other than to  remove the eye then & there.

They told us his other eye had glaucoma & may have to come out as the retina could detach in that one also. After a month of seeing him refuse food & just wanting to sit somewhere quiet, we couldn’t bear to see him go through so much pain again, so we told the vets to take his remaining eye out also. We learnt that the pressure in that eye was triple what it should have been, so we made the right move!

Having had both eyes out, Harry is virtually no different. As long as we don’t move furniture around, he knows where he is going & will often run from one room to the other…which amazes me!!  Most people don’t even notice he has no eyes.”

Good Samaritans Rescue Dog Shot Multiple Times In The Face, Tied Up Left For Dead

CONROE, Texas – A dog is being treated for gunshot wounds in Conroe after a shocking case of animal cruelty.

Buck, shot several times, tied up in a bag & left for dead!!

Someone shot the dog several times in the face with a shotgun, tied it up in a garbage bag and left it for dead.

Someone spotted the trash bag moving on Bulldog Lane in Conroe Saturday morning. They ripped it open and the bloody dog stumbled out and collapsed.

Tami Augustyn took the dog to an emergency clinic where veterinarians discovered buckshot lodged in both eyes, his mouth, gums, shoulders and neck.

They’re calling the mixed breed dog Buck and say he’s making a remarkable recovery.

Vets say Buck’s prognosis is good, but the injuries to his eyes may cause permanent blindness.

This isn’t the first time Augustyn has rescued a dog in trouble.

“Dogs love unconditionally. You’ll never find anyone or anything that loves you like a dog. Why would you injure something like that? I don’t understand,” she told Montgomery County Police Reporter Scott Engle.

Augustyn said Buck’s medical bills will likely top $5,000 and she’s trying to raise money to help pay for them.

010613 DOG SHOT , TIED IN TRASH BAG TIED TO FENCE LEFT FOR DEAD

Story shortly, a dog is found in the Conroe area in a trash bag tied to a fence and shot. Left for dead in near freezing temperatures.

A dog has been found sealed up in a contractor’s garbage bag after being shot with a shotgun in the face and left to die. 

A good Samaritan, Tami Augustyn, was notified by a friend that a dog had been tied up in a garbage bag and left to die along Bulldog Lane in Conroe, Texas. Tami immediately picked up the severely wounded dog and took him to Animal Emergency Clinic in Conroe, Texas where the dog is being evaluated and stabilized until they close on Monday, January 7th at 8am in which he will be transported to another vet. Under initial evaluation, the dog has been shot in the face, including in both eyes and inside his mouth, with birdshot fragments. This has left the dog either temporarily or permanently blind and will require a specialist to evaluate his eyes. The dog also needs x-rays of his hind legs to determine why he can’t walk.

The dog is affectionately being referred to as “Buck” after Buckshot. A Facebook page “Buck Needs Bucks for his Buckshot Injuries” has been created to follow his prognosis and documenting pictures of his wounds and medical bills. https://www.facebook.com/Buckneedsbucks  (Lots of updates here)

How could they? Puppies Maggie and Matilda are left blinded after being doused in chemicals and abandoned in park

A puppy has been blinded and another may lose its sight after they were doused in dangerous chemicals and left for dead in a park.

Maggie and Matilda are two female Staffordshire Bull terrier pups that were found abandoned in a park on Merseyside with serious ulceration to their eyes.

Vets have tried to save the sight of both of the puppies but tragically Maggie is now blind and Matilda is undergoing operations on her eyes.

Blinded: The puppies were doused in dangerous chemicals and left for dead in a park in Bootle, Liverpool.

They were found abandoned in a park in Bootle covered in the mystery substance which has discoloured their fur and could have caused serious infection.

Animal welfare officers at Freshfields Rescue Centre are now caring for them and are appealing for donations after spending more than £2,000 in vet fees and operations.

 General Manager Helen Stanbury said: “One of the of the pups is blind, the other has some vision but must be operated on today if that vision is to be saved

‘Freshfields has had to pay out £433 so far in vet fees and will be paying in the region of £2,000 for the first operation.

‘The blind puppy isn’t currently well enough to be operated on so we will be monitoring her in the short term and a decision about her treatment made in the next few days.
