“OMG…this POS must be mentally impaired, as no sane person would do such despicable things to innocent puppies! His name & picture need to be on any Animal Abuse Registers & on every shelter wall. I hope he rots in jail, where hopefully another inmate might show him more things one can do with a pair of scissors 🙂  (sorry some posts are outdated but I feel some stories need to be told; especially if it may help others by sharing an image of the offending party) My apologise to anyone who sent me stories to be posted & they haven’t been done yet, I’m splitting my time between so many different things, I’m meeting myself coming backwards!!”

A man in Cobb County, Georgia has been arrested for allegedly mutilating two puppies his neighbors gave him to watch.

Robert Williams Davis

Robert Williams Davis, 38, was arrested just before midnight on Saturday after police officers found the dogs’ dead bodies in a wooded area behind his house.

A 14-year-old neighbour of Davis had given him and his girlfriend the two pit bull puppies. A pit bull rescue group was going to pick the dogs up within a few days. But the neighbour, Tyler Tedesco, learned that Davis had killed the two puppies. He called 911.

“I saw that, I dropped what I was doing and just walked away. I couldn’t bear to see that because I raised those dogs,” Tedesco told WSBTV.

Davis allegedly killed both puppies with a pair of scissors. Police said one dog was beheaded, while the other was stabbed in the throat. It is unclear why Davis killed the puppies.

“We all ran back to the house and cried. As soon as we saw it, it was something nobody wants to go through or see. And it’s really hard for all of us to know that somebody could even do that to a poor innocent animal,” Tedesco said.

Davis was charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and three counts of tampering with evidence. He is being held on $250,000 bond.

Animal Control Officer Tails And Rescues Dog Strapped To Back Of Vehicle

Comments Off on Animal Control Officer Tails And Rescues Dog Strapped To Back Of Vehicle

“WTF….if the owners don’t allow their dog to be in the boot of the car in it’s crate; I pity how the poor thing lives at home!! If that’s how they feel then they shouldn’t have pets at all; bloody heartless morons!!”

A South Carolina animal control officer went above and beyond her call of duty when she spent two hours following an SUV that had a dog strapped outside of it.

Nicole Hubbard and her boyfriend were driving along the I-95 in Georgia when they noticed an airline crate attached to the cargo holder of a Dodge Durango.

“We were riding back from a family vacation,” Hubbard said. “We thought, ‘Surely, they don’t have a dog in the back of it.’ But when we got up next to it, there the dog was.”

A beagle mix was inside the crate, which was positioned directly behind the tailpipe, sending exhaust right through the carrier. Hubbard noticed there was no water container for the pup (which probably would have sloshed around anyway).

How Utterly Stupid & Ignorant

With it being 94 degrees out, she was concerned that the dog could become very ill from the heat and exhaust, not to mention the anxiety of being in a crate on the outside of a vehicle.

Though it appeared securely rigged with bungee cords, a bad bump could have knocked the carrier off and into the path of another vehicle.

She immediately informed highway patrol, who told her an officer would be dispatched to pull the vehicle over.

“We stayed behind them, and no officer ever came,” she said. She called again, but this time was told police couldn’t respond.

“They said they just don’t have an officer to send,” Hubbard said.

The couple continued to follow the SUV for about two hours, until they crossed the South Carolina border. She called the SC highway patrol, who showed greater concern for the situation.

“They were wonderful,” Hubbard said.

An operator kept her on the line until a trooper could be sent to the area. Finally, the SUV was pulled over.

Hubbard does not know if the driver was issued a summons. It is unlikely that what was done would legally be considered animal cruelty, but it certainly falls under the definition of stupidity.

Hubbard said keeping a dog in a crate by an exhaust pipe with no water on such a hot day was unacceptable.

There wasn’t even enough room for the dog to turn around inside.

“I was just amazed that somebody could be that uneducated of the dangers with that dog being there,” she said. “Hopefully, they learned something from it.”

Hoarder Sisters In Georgia Face Cruelty And Exploitation Charges

Comments Off on Hoarder Sisters In Georgia Face Cruelty And Exploitation Charges

Snellville, GA – Two Georgia hoarders, sisters Elisha and Leah Waller, both face charges for animal cruelty and the exploitation of a disabled adult.

Arrests were made Wednesday after authorities discovered 31 dying cats, a dog, and a disabled young man cramped inside a filthy hotel room the night before, according to the Huffington Post.

The women were ultimately exposed after several people staying at the Snellville hotel reported smelling an overpowering stench emanating from the room the Waller sisters shared.

Police identified the disabled man as Leah Waller’s 19-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy. He was found trapped in the filthy room, confined to his wheelchair amid massive amounts of animal feces, urine saturation, and garbage, reports WSBTV.

Cerebral palsy is an umbrella term denoting a group of non-progressive conditions that cause physical disability in human development.

The felines were found, many of them suffering with upper respiratory infections, open soars, and missing hair. Only two were deemed fit enough to survive. The rest, 29 in total, were euthanized.

According to local animal control, there was no other option than to humanely euthanize them due to their unhealthy condition.

This is the sisters’ second abuse-related arrest in less than two months.

Hoarding is a compulsive behavior to pathologically collect to excess, obsessively acquiring objects or even animals. However, hoarders are incapable or unwilling to discard the aforementioned acquisitions, regardless of the clutter, filth, danger or disease that can result, as doing so can cause significant distress or impairment.

Compulsive hoarding has been associated with health risks, impaired functioning, economic burden, and can result in adverse effects on friends and family members – creating frustration-fueled rifts between loved ones. Parents have had children taken away and couples have divorced over hoarding.

The troubling condition often stems from some type of psychologically engrained trauma. For one reason or another, a hoarder developed an unhealthy attachment, clinging to the otherwise innocuous, valueless item others would throw away.

The act of hoarding is dangerous as it puts the individual or others at risk from fire, falling, poor sanitation, and other health concerns.

“WOW…what a transformation, I can’t believe how far she has come in such a short time. I donated a few dollars but honestly thought it would pay for another dog! How wrong we all were. It just show’s with the right love & attention, these throw away dogs can become the centre of someone’s family. To be loved, snuggled up to whilst watching TV, & making you laugh with their silly antics.”

“Her story has touched many people, probably because of her amazing spirit to live! Please don’t pass these dogs off as untouchables, they all have the biggest hearts & just want to share their love with someone…& ask very little in return!!”

“If you can afford to donate a few dollars, it all adds up, hopefully when the next case comes along, the fee’s will be there to literally pay for their lives. If you donate & see the transformation, it makes one feel a part of their healing, & is such a joy to behold, knowing that you helped save a life, is the best feeling in the world”

When we rescued Xena we had no idea if she would make it through the day.

We took her to the vet hoping that she may eventually pull through. We were shocked to see how quickly she responded and amazed by her will to live.

This girl’s story of survival has touched more people than we will ever know. In honor of Xena’s one month anniversary, we’d like to raise funds to help more shelter pets in need.

There are many animals in need at Dekalb County Animal Services every day. Xena is one of the lucky ones.

We hope that we can raise enough money to help/treat more animals that need our help

Man charged with beating girlfriend and killing her dog

“See, look…those same empty dark cold eye’s, devoid of normal rational behaviour & feelings!”

A Cleveland, Tenn., man is in jail after law enforcement officials say he allegedly attacked his girlfriend and killed her pet dog.

Justin Johnson, 26, 230 Outlet Road, Cleveland, Tenn., was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence, first offence) and aggravated cruelty to animals. He remained in the Whitfield County jail without bond as of Thursday afternoon.

Justin Johnson

According to an incident report, Johnson’s live-in girlfriend, Crystal Coffman, told police she had asked Johnson to “move some items off their bed when he became irate and began striking her on the head with his fists.”

The incident report stated Coffman had swollen eyes, a cut and crooked nose, and a disfigured finger. Coffman was crying and holding a small, black dog that “she stated Mr. Johnson had killed during his assault on her,” according to the incident report.

Coffman’s mother, Kimberly Barb, said Thursday her daughter didn’t feel like talking to a reporter but was home from the hospital and beginning to heal. Barb said the violence began after Coffman questioned Johnson when she was told he had beat up her stepfather he had been living with. Coffman and Johnson had recently moved to a residence on Cleveland Highway in Cohutta.

Barb said the family took Johnson in about three months ago and were allowing him to live with her, her husband and her daughter because he had no place to go. She said when her husband began to question him about not keeping his room clean he turned violent.

“Watch who you deal with,” Barb said. “I know you want to help somebody, but be wary… I really liked him at first. I had no idea he was like this.”

Neighborhood shocked by swan massacre

Comments Off on Neighborhood shocked by swan massacre

Residents of the Rosemoore Lake subdivision in north Gwinnett County were shocked Saturday to find the development’s eight resident swans dead, apparently of gunshot wounds.

“We’re baffled why anyone would want to do that,” said Marilyn King, a longtime resident. “Nobody resented them. They didn’t bother anyone.”

Residents said the dead birds were a mated couple and six young swans, which are called cygnets.

Gwinnett County Police and animal control officers were investigating. Police spokesman Lt. James Flanagan said the cause of death is under investigation, but it does appear the birds were shot to death.

Flanagan said animal control collected the carcases and is attempting to retrieve some of the spent ammunition for investigation by police into possible animal cruelty charges.

According to residents, the swans have been under attack for several years.

“Three years ago someone shot one of the males,” resident Gary Webb said. The following year, two cygnets were killed, he said.

This time every swan in the lake was killed, he said.

“They can’t fly, they can’t do anything. They are harmless animals,” he said. “They are pets.”

They also are expensive. Webb said the cygnets were worth $1,000 apiece while their parents were worth $1,500 each.

Webb said police made no arrests in the prior killings, but he expects a different outcome now.

“They are going to investigate it this time,” he said.

King said most residents in the neighborhood were “thrilled” this spring when the adult swans hatched six babies. When word got out Saturday the swans were dead, King said her neighbors gathered at the lake, saying little.

“Everybody was so shocked and quiet,” she said. “Everybody treated them like they were their personal pets.”

Georgia law classifies most animal cruelty as a misdemeanor, although a felony charge is available for aggravated cases.
