Cedar Springs Man Faces Sex Charge Again, This Time Involving A Dog

“WTF…his fourth felony…when will judges grow some bloody balls & start dishing out sentences that actually have some affect, at the first offence?? This is kind of like ‘told you so’.  This fxxxxxg ugly knob Jokey needs to be monitored at all times; definitely no contact with any animals in the future, period!! I’m sick of posting about repeat sex offenders & seeing shop lifters receiving more severe sentences etc.!”

“I really hope the Judges that this perv has previously stood before; feel really embarrassed at letting a sexual pervert…re-offend!! God help them if  he had chosen a small child!. Had that been the case, then the afore-mentioned Judges should be made to stand trial; for their appalling poor judgement & lack of action, in protecting the public from a sexual predator!”

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A Cedar Springs man faces a possible life sentence after he was charged with sodomy this week for allegedly having sex with a dog, his fourth felony offence. “Never mind ‘Possible’…defo! Do people not care about the suffering of the animals? How is the dog? no mention of that! If they had a voice they would be screaming!!”

Charles Horton

Charles Ralph Horton, 57, is lodged in the Kent County Jail on a $500,000 cash/surety bond. If released, he must remain at home on a tethering device, a judge stipulated at Horton’s arraignment this week.

The sexual contact, with a lab/shepherd mix, occurred from August through November 2012 at locations on Lexington Avenue and 20 Mile Road Northwest, police say.

In court records, authorities called the act an “abominable and detestable crime.”

“The defendant was a person whose sexual behaviour was characterized by repetitive acts which indicate a disregard of the consequences or the recognized rights of others,” records say. “There is a clue in that sentence, for any judge too bloody to notice prior offences… REPETITIVE!!”

Horton was previously convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Muskegon County in 1991.

Records show convictions of burglary and breaking and entering, in the 1980s.

A message seeking comment was left Friday by The Associated Press at a telephone listing for Espinosa.

The court said it didn’t know whether she had a lawyer.

The sheriff’s department says the mixed breed dogs found Wednesday in Paw Paw Township, about 50 miles southwest of Grand Rapids, are part pit bull.

The dogs are being cared for by Van Buren County Animal Control.

Breeders Charged with Animal Cruelty

“Surely with that amount of dogs, who are breeding,  it would be called a Puppy Mill??  I am unsure whether the picture relates to one of the dogs taken from the breeders, as it has no information linked to it.”

A southwestern Michigan couple have been charged with animal cruelty after authorities seized about 350 dogs from the home where they ran a breeding business.

The Allegan County sheriff’s department says animal control officers took the dogs Monday from the home in Cheshire Township, about 40 miles south-southwest of Grand Rapids.

The department says that 64-year-olds Cheri and George Burke were arraigned Wednesday at the county jail on the felony charge.

Cheri Burke tells WOOD-TV that she and the dogs have been misrepresented.

The sheriff’s department says the owners were breeding small dogs such as Pomeranians but had too many to adequately care for

In a statement, the department says Wishbone Pet Rescue “continues to work toward the goal of finding homes for these animals.”
