DISGUSTING;-“Kill greyhounds, don’t rehome them” Callous advice from Irish Coursing Club 28 January 2015. The Irish Coursing Club is callously advising greyhound owners to destroy unwanted greyhounds instead of rehoming them. In a damning internal report, uncovered by the Irish Council Against Blood Sports, owners are advised: “Do not give away unwanted greyhounds. It is far better to put them painlessly to sleep.”

What constitutes putting a dog “painlessly to sleep” is not specified in the document.

Entitled “A Summary of Directives, Instructions and Guidance Notes Issued by the Executive Committee of the Irish Coursing Club to Club Secretaries, Control Stewards Judges and Slippers” it conveys the contempt with which coursers regard greyhounds incapable of winning money for their owners. Dogs “that have run a number of times during the season” without success are branded “no-hopers”.

The document also reveals the use of injured greyhounds in hare coursing. In a section headed “Running Of Injured Greyhounds“, it states “As the implementation of a rule to cater for the running of injured greyhounds in order to qualify for prize money would be difficult, the Executive Committee ask that the stewards of meetings use their judgement in relation to the matter.”

The coursers’ Instructions and Guidance document leaves no doubt that both hares and greyhounds are victims of this cruel bloodsport. The time is now for the government to ban this shameful activity.

Dear Minister,

I am one of the majority who want hare coursing outlawed. I am writing to urge you to revoke the licence you issued to the Irish Coursing Club. In coursing, hares suffer at all stages – during the capture, during the time they are kept in captivity and during the coursing meetings where they run for their lives in front of greyhounds. Among the injuries recorded are broken legs, damaged toes and dislocated hips. Every season, hare injuries and deaths are documented.
I ask you to please act on the wishes of the majority, show compassion
and permanently revoke the licence.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

‘Rescue Sanctuary’ Family Convicted of 16 Animal Cruelty Offences

Comments Off on ‘Rescue Sanctuary’ Family Convicted of 16 Animal Cruelty Offences

“Animals coming out of abusive homes, go to these places, expecting the best care, to aid in their recovery! But this just proves, yet again, anybody can set up a sanctuary; yet be capable of inflicting serious harm to animals, because they don’t love them!!. Don’t these places have to be licensed & inspected regularly?? If so, what happened?? It’s sad to say but some people see animals as an easy way to make money….they don’t love animals & have no interest in aiding animals to recover; they are just a means to an end!”

“I have no sympathy for those who abuse or neglect animals in their care & believe as a business, scamming everyone; they should receive the most serious of charges! How would you feel, if you had donated money to a sanctuary, only to learn that it mistreat’s its animals? terrible I’m guessing. So before you part with your money, even if the place has a flashy internet site etc…make your own investigations before you part with any donation. I think these so-called sanctuary’s need a lot more intervention from animal society’s like the RSPCA or HSI etc., depending where they are in the world…they need to be verified, that they are taking care of the animals in their charge; as they should!! Certainly no animals should have to be rescued from a so-called sanctuary; as in this case!!”

“Think about this, hotels are given star ratings, after being approved…yet animal sanctuary’s can pop up anywhere, with no interest what so ever in taking care of the animals…to them it’s just a money maker…wanting your donation!! Perhaps animal sanctuaries should be star rated to reflect the level of care the animals receive. Shame there were no pictures of this uncaring, selfish family. But similar folk are around us all, animal lovers must be vigilant & fight together to stand up for the rights of animals; if we don’t who will. Your local council representatives & governments are supposed to listen & work for their constituents; if they have no interest in animal welfare & don’t care….make some noise & get them booted out!!”

A family who ran an animal sanctuary in Oxfordshire have been found guilty of 16 offences of cruelty.

More than 100 animals, including 14 horses, were removed from Crunchies Animal Rescue Sanctuary, near Abingdon, in January 2012.

Eight peopleAngela Russell, her carer Daniel Bunyan, father Fred, son Robert, daughters Kirsty and Louise, her brother Peter and niece Abigail McHughwent on trial in April at Bicester Magistrates Court. They were charged with 16 offences, including failing to provide inadequate nutrition and veterinary care.

On Monday (24 June), all bar Peter Russell and Daniel Bunyan were convicted of all 16 offences at at Bicester Magistrates Court.

District judge Tim Pattison said: “I echo the words of RPSCA inspector Douglas Davidson that Crunchies was ‘an animal welfare disaster’; a sea of mud and faeces and, in short, a rescue centre from which animals needed to be rescued.”

Family Banned From Keeping Horses For Life

Comments Off on Family Banned From Keeping Horses For Life

“A family of scum let this happen, to such a noble, sensitive, sentient being! They should never be allowed to own any animal ever again! Look into the eye’s of a horse & you see their soul! They are capable of giving so much, love, trust & such a unique bond! They just want to be fed & loved …it’s not a lot to ask, is it? I hope all those that know this family, see them for what they are…animal abusers; not fit to breathe the same air as animals, never mind people!! Kudos to Redwings Horse Sanctuary, for giving this horse the best thing ever, a new happy life. I hope he soon finds a forever home with loving owners. Abused horses deserve the very best life can offer after such suffering, as do all animals. They are so willing to forgive & love again, they are so grateful, not selfish or looking for revenge; like we humans do!!

A family has been banned from keeping horses for life after their cob was found collapsed and starving in a field in Essex.

On 28 June at Basildon Magistrates CourtVictoria Jaggers, of Wellington Road, Tilbury, her husband Kelly Trundle and her daughter Alicia Jaggers were found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a horse.

The cob, Frugal, was reported to the RSPCA by a concerned member of the public in December.

RSPCA Inspector Matt Gough went to the property, in Tilbury, Essex, and found the two-year-old piebald cob. He was unable to stand by himself and was starving.

Fire-fighters helped lift the horse and take him to a local vet, before he was transferred to Redwings Horse Sanctuary in Norfolk where he has since made a full recovery (see photo above).

“When Frugal arrived he was still so weak he couldn’t stand by himself and had to be lifted manually by the team,” said Redwings vet Nicola Berryman.

“He was covered in sores from where he had been stuck down for so long. This is a case of neglect, pure and simple. We are delighted to report that he is now fully recovered, but no matter what the circumstances, he should never have been allowed to get into this state in the first place.”

As well as the ban, Mr Trundle was given a 12-month community order and told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. The 42-year-old was also ordered to pay £250 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Victoria Jaggers, 39, and Alicia Jaggers, 21, were each given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay £250 costs.

“Frugal was in a very sorry state when we found him,” said RSPCA Inspector Matt Gough.

“He clearly wasn’t receiving proper care, and hadn’t for some time. It is no excuse to plead ignorance when looking after any animal. Anyone who has responsibility for an animal has a legal duty of care towards that creature. The failure to do just that in this instance resulted in the matter being put before the court.

Horse Dealer Guilty of Cruelty To 27 Horses

Comments Off on Horse Dealer Guilty of Cruelty To 27 Horses

“I really don’t think I need to tell you what I think about this family of scum…if I did you wouldn’t understand because it would be all expletives: like %$%&  & ££!^&)!> :%&*£$^^+~ etc.!! Horses just left to die….they are not fit to breathe the same air as horses never mind decent human beings!”

A South Wales horse dealer has been convicted of 57 animal cruelty and welfare charges, in a case that highlights the problem of fly-grazing in the region.

Tom Price, 48, from Wick in Glamorgan, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering and failing to meet the needs of 27 gypsy cobs by a court in Cardiff on 14 June.

The horses were found at five different locations in South Wales. The RSPCA — which brought the prosecution — said 12 of the animals had been “left to die” in a barn in Bridgend.

Price’s eldest son, Thomas Hope Price, 26, pleaded guilty to 42 welfare charges at an earlier hearing. A second son, Tony Price, 19, also admitted to failing to meet the welfare needs of two horses.

RSPCA inspector Christine McNeil said some of the animals they found were “the most poorly and diseased horses I have come across”. The 12 horses found in the barn had been locked in with no access to food or water.

Welfare agencies estimate that the Prices own as many as 2,500 gypsy cobs. Price senior ran a company called Glamorgan Horse Traders. Since 2011, problems had been reported with his horses fly-grazing in the area.

In November last year, he was given an anti-social behaviour order to prevent his horses fly-grazing and straying on to roads in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Welsh Government is undertaking a consultation on ways to tackle fly-grazing. Welfare organisations are lobbying for criminal legislation to penalise the worst perpetrators and to act as a deterrent.

“We need tougher laws that give authorities power to address aggressive and cruel fly-grazing and make owners accountable for their animals,” said Roly Owers, chief executive of World Horse Welfare.

The three members of the Price family will be sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates Court on 5 July. The judge warned Price snr that all options — including custody — remained open.

Family On animal Cruelty Charges

Comments Off on Family On animal Cruelty Charges

“My sincere apologies for the lack of post’s, pain is my manager; as most of you know! Sorry can’t find any names of those below, if I could I would publish them. All animal abusers should be named & shame, the bxxxxxd’s don’t deserve the protection of anonymity!!

A FAMILY will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court tomorrow to face charges of animal cruelty.

A 72-year-old man, his wife and daughter were charged by RSPCA with one count of cruelty under the Animal Welfare Act 2002.

The  family, from White Gum Valley, are accused of not properly looking after a seven-year-old female Maltese cross Shih Tzu dog, named Bindi, causing it to suffer harm which could have been alleviated by the taking of reasonable steps.

The animal welfare agency will allege the family home was visited by an RSPCA inspector on May 10, 2012 in response to a cruelty complaint.

The inspector said the dog was in poor condition with badly matted fur and an open wound on her front right leg.

Bindi was surrendered to the RSPCA and taken to RSPCA’s Malaga headquarters for veterinary examination.

She had to be sedated.

The RSPCA will allege its vets found the dog to be severely emaciated, with a very poor body condition, had osteoarthritis, was blind, had severely matted fur, and an open wound on her right, front leg which caused her to walk with difficulty.

It will also be alleged Bindi’s nails were also overgrown that some curled more than 360 degrees, she had a flea infestation which had been present for months and odorous discharges from her ears and eyes.

The RSPCA said Bindi was euthanased on humane grounds.

Brierley Hill family Jailed For Animal Cruelty To Horses

Comments Off on Brierley Hill family Jailed For Animal Cruelty To Horses

Walter, Kevin and Amanda Hickman, who have all been jailed for animal cruelty

A BRIERLEY Hill family who kept horses in conditions the RSPCA called medieval have been jailed for animal cruelty.

Amanda and Walter Hickman and their son Kevin, all of Wallows Road, were told by a judge they showed no remorse and were in denial bordering on arrogance.

The trio, who appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court today (March 20), had pleaded guilty to a total of 44 charges under the Animal Welfare Act in connection with four horses recovered from Fens Pool Nature Reserve.

RSPCA prosecutor Nick Sutton said: “These horses were treated in a way which displayed a total lack of knowledge of horse care, they were in an appalling state – close to death.

“They were tethered and suffering with parasites, their hooves needed to be attended to.

“These people should not be near horses or any other animals.”

The case began when RSCPA inspectors were called to the Hickmans’ home in June 2011 to find a foal collapsed in a horse box on the property.

The animal, which was just weeks old and unable to reach its mother to feed, could not be saved and was later destroyed.

Due to its age the foal’s plight could not form part of the case against the Hickman family however evidence was gathered involving four other animals which were seized by animal welfare workers at the Brierley Hill nature reserve.

The Hickmans’ solicitor, Stephanie Brownlees, told the court her clients’ level of care fell short but they loved the horses and were “shell shocked” by their loss.

She added 23-year-old Kevin, who suffered with cancer as a child and had a long-term memory condition, “went there several times a day to feed them, he did feel he was doing all he could”.

Miss Brownlees said: “The defendants appear to have bitten off more than they could chew, they were ignorant of appropriate levels of care, with the issue of horses being thin they felt they could deal with it by feeding them more.”

District judge Michael Wheeler banned all three from keeping horses for life and jailed Amanda, aged 49, for 16 weeks and Kevin for 18 weeks.

He also jailed wheelchair-bound Walter, aged 52, who suffers from diabetes, kidney failure and has one leg, for 18 weeks.

The judge told the trio: “You intended to plead not guilty in the face of overwhelming evidence and ran up a huge legal bill, we allowed for a three day trial and you waited until the first morning to plead guilty.

“I have been told as a family you kept horses and knew what you were doing, I find that impossible to believe. It is a miracle these animals survived.”

Speaking after the case, RSPCA inspector Paul Seddon said: “These horses were kept in medieval conditions. We have had numerous dealings with this family, you come to a point where you offer advice to them and they seem incapable or unwilling to take it.”

Mother Of Two Spared Jail After Letting Dog Die Slow And Painful Death; Six Weeks Locked In Bathroom

Comments Off on Mother Of Two Spared Jail After Letting Dog Die Slow And Painful Death; Six Weeks Locked In Bathroom

“WTF…if an alcoholic mother of 2 , literally locked a dog in a toilet then walked away; leaving the dog unattended to die of starvation amongst other things…One has to ask…are those children safe? She knew it was wrong, the dog died an unimaginably slow death…so why no prison sentence? We are talking about a life, irrelevant whether a dog or not! A shop lifter would have been sentenced to more! This alcoholic piece of shit has got off so lightly, she isn’t fit to look after pets period, never mind children!! Judging by how much these court proceedings costs, the RSPCA…needn’t have bloody bothered!!”

  • Laura Shaw, 23, abandoned pet Lulu when the animal fell ill
  • Dog was found dead and covered in flies with ‘overpowering foul stench’
  • Unemployed alcoholic fined and banned from keeping animals

Heartless: Laura Shaw has been convicted of animal cruelty after leaving her pet dog to die

Please note: Graphic Images Below!!

An unemployed alcoholic mother who locked her dog in a toilet and left it to die has walked free from court. “To literally lock that dog in the bathroom then walk away, show’s she was of sound mind!”

Laura Shaw, 23, abandoned her pet Lulu for six weeks, and has now been banned from keeping animals for the next 10 years. How long before she will do something similar to another living being??? I have a feeling we are going to encounter this name again;because her sentence won’t have done diddley squat to deter her from committing such an evil act again!!

Horrific images shown in court revealed how the animal was found covered in swarms of flies, surrounded by the empty food bowls it tried to eat.

The mother of two was prosecuted by the RSPCA, but escaped jail after a hearing at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard how the dog was found dead last August in a downstairs toilet at Shaw’s former home in Grimsby, surrounded by faeces and urine.

Prosecutor Nigel Burn said there was an ‘overpowering foul stench‘ and the house was swarming with large flies.

Empty plates and a bowl were found and it looked as though they had been bitten by the black cross-bred dog in a desperate attempt to satisfy its hunger. “I find this sentence strange, as below, SHAW reckon’s the dog would not eat or drink anything…if it tried to eat the bowls, obviously it wanted & needed to eat anything going!”

Shaw, now of no fixed address, admitted two offences of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog by failing to provide veterinary care and leaving it unattended without adequate food and water. “Strikes me, booze would have been more important to buy, than food for the poor dog!”

She claimed that she was scared to seek help after the dog became ill, but when she was asked about the animal’s death she admitted: ‘It must have been traumatic and it must have been lonely and scared.’ “WTF…why was she scared?? I can think of only one reason you would be SCARED to take a dog to a vet…that would be if a previous animal had been abused & taken to a vet; who asked too many questions!! I wonder, did that dog ever visit a vet??

Lauren Fisher, mitigating, said the dog stopped eating and drinking and that she tried giving it milk and different dog food brands, without success. “A dog may be picky with food, but will eat if hungry… but to not drink either, sounds very suspicious. I would like to know if a necropsy was done & what it said! If one wasn’t done, why?? Alarm bells should be ringing in a case like this; with a necropsy being the first thing done! “

Things spiralled out of control,’ she said. ‘She did not get the help that was necessary for the dog and neglected her duty as an owner to take the dog to the vet’s.’

Tragic: The dog was apparently abandoned after she fell ill and started refusing the food she was given

Ms Fisher added that Shaw’s former home had been burgled after her windows were smashed and that a large amount of her property had been stolen, causing her ‘extreme unhappiness’. “OH fxxxxxg boo hoo!! Not as unhappy as the bloody dog; I bet!”

She left the house ‘feeling scared and unable to cope’ and abandoned the dog, who was aged about 18 months to two years. “Yea, I bet the poor bloody dog felt scared because it was abandoned…probably thought it better to buy booze than vet bills & food…sick bitch!”

The court heard that the defendant also had more than £10,000 of debts.

Judge Sam Goozee told Shaw: ‘You have committed a cruel and despicable offence. The pictures I have seen show the horror and pain that Lulu must have gone through in what was a very slow death.

‘The conditions in which she was found are disgusting and she clearly had been dead for a while.

Squalid: The house in Grimsby was filled with an overwhelming stink when the dog was found last year

Probation officer Graham Marshall said Shaw had been a mental health support worker but lost her job and later ‘drank to oblivion every day whenever she could’.

‘Looking after an animal brings responsibility and you simply ignored those responsibilities.

‘Can you imagine what it would be like if a child went through what Lulu did? As an adult, you would never place a child in that position and you should not place an animal in that position.’ “A life is a life, that dog suffered the same as a child would, except it wouldn’t have got that far with a child because friends, neighbours, social workers etc. would have said something…but it was only a dog…that doesn’t make it any less of a heinous cruel & cold hearted thing to do!”

Shaw was handed 200 hours of unpaid work, banned from keeping animals for ten years and ordered to pay £150 costs. “Well they might as well not bothered… what’s the point in a fine when she is already in debt? This sentence is weak & pathetic & stinks!!

Speaking after the verdict, an RSPCA spokesman said: ‘This was a shocking incident. The poor animal would have suffered terribly, and it is terrible to leave a living creature to die like this.

‘We hope this sends a clear to message to people that neglect or abuse of animals is not acceptable.’ “No it’s not, & THIS DOESN’T SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE TO SAY ANIMAL ABUSE IS UNACCEPTABLE…WTF…what was her penance? Banned from owning animals for 10 years, 200 unpaid hours & £150 costs??? WTF…WTF does that say to other animals abusers? NOT ENOUGH TO STOP THEM…THAT’S WHAT…WHEN WILL THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM START GROWING SOME BALLS & MAKING PEOPLE PAY BY GIVING PRISON SENTENCES

Sheffield Man Banned From Keeping Horses For Five Years

Comments Off on Sheffield Man Banned From Keeping Horses For Five Years

“This cold hearted shit has got away lightly, banned for five years?? it should have been for life!!!”

Sheffield man has been banned from keeping horses for five years after an emaciated mare and foal were found in his care.

Dollar — a seven-year-old mare (pictured right and below) — and her six-month-old piebald filly foal Tweddle,

Horse as found

were found at the start of the year by World Horse Welfarefield officer Rachel Andrews.

Andrew Willoughby, 34, of Kiveton Park, Red Hill was sentenced to 200 hours of community service at Rotherham Magistrates Court on 23 October.

He was ordered to pay £500 costs and a £70 fine after pleading guilty to causing unnecessary suffering.

Mr Willoughby had originally denied ownership of the mare and entered a not guilty plea, but changed his plea to guilty before the trial took place.

Both animals were extremely thin, with lice and a possible worm burden.

Dollar was officially signed over to the care of World Horse Welfare prior to the hearing and Tweddle has now been signed over too.

“I’m very satisfied with the outcome pleased that the seriousness of the case has been highlighted,” said Rachel Andrews.

This is what food & TLC can do for horses on the brink of death

“Dollar (pictured above) and Tweddle have already improved almost beyond recognition under the care of World Horse Welfare.

The pair will remain at the charity’s Hall Farm base in Norfolk for further rehabilitation and when ready, will be re-homed to begin a new chapter of their life.”

Accused of making indecent child images

Comments Off on Accused of making indecent child images

“WTF…its all getting a bit too much now…again this is predominantly about child abuse but do you see how child abuse & bestiality go hand  in hand…it’s so common, one can almost guarantee that if someone has or is about to abuse a child, they will have raped an animal first…sadistic Neanderthals. We have got to push for the Animal Abuse Register to become law. Think how many children could be saved because that perpetrators name was on the afore mentioned list, therefore cops were watching him!”

“Do you know the one thing that brings child abuse & bestiality together?? Animals can’t speak & children are so traumatised by the event that they find it hard if ever, to talk about it…the voiceless & the innocent! I think they should just chop their F-ing dicks & balls off & make them wear them as earrings to identify themselves…along with the word PERVERT inked across their foreheads!””

A Long Sutton man has appeared in court charged with making and possessing indecent images of children.

Michal Jasiak (40), of High Street, Long Sutton, faces 12 charges in total involving children aged 11 and 12 years old.

The images include those graded as the most severe ‘level five’ category, defined as sadism or bestiality. “Do you know how much I want to punch this computer screen right now? if I could afford it, it would have been smashed along time ago…this just makes me want to hurl…so why do I post them? So that those that live around the bastard are aware, that’s why…remember the name!!”

Jasiak is charged with three counts of making a ‘level one’ image of a child, three counts of making a ‘level two’ image, one count of making a ‘level three’ image, three counts of making a ‘level four’ image, and one count of making a ‘level five’ image.

He is also accused of possessing 36 images of a child – ten ‘level one’, ten ‘level two’, two ‘level three’, and 14 ‘level four’.

The case was committed to Norwich Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on December 7th. “Don’t worry I will watch out for this name!”
