Convicted Puppy Killer Faces Judge Again

“They should have put him & the other little shit in jail for a long time, for torturing & killing the little puppy first time round; I’m sick of hearing about the twat! Fxxxxxg psychopaths like this don’t suddenly go on the straight & narrow; he will be in trouble for the rest of his life, which means either animals or humans will suffer!”

DRESDEN, Tenn. – The West Tennessee teenager convicted of animal cruelty is back in court again to face a judge after his latest arrest.

Wednesday’s hearing for Preston Odle stems from another arrest last month, and residents told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they are not happy with the teen’s punishment.MUG-PrestonOdle

I think it’s pretty stupid,” said resident Jaylee Elsea. “I mean, if you’re already in trouble, why would you do it again?”

Odle pleaded guilty to torturing and killing a Saint Bernard puppy last September, and on Wednesday he pleaded guilty to a new chargecontributing to the delinquency of a minor.

“There again. That just shows you, you know, one more strike he’s supposed to be out, but he won’t be. Not in this county,” said resident Sue Box.

Odle was arrested in December for possession of a weapon by a felon.

According to court papers, he and several other juveniles were hunting for deer, though Odle claimed he was only driving. The state dropped that weapon charge.

“I think what he did is horrible,” Elsea said. “Killing a dog is practically like killing a person. It’s wrong.”

Residents said his punishment for both crimes was not harsh enough.

“Because I think it’ll go on to other things because he got by with this, so he will continue,” Box said.

Officials said if Odle is found guilty of violating his probation later this month, he could get one to two years in jail. “Yea & pigs might fly!”

On Wednesday, the judge sentenced him to 45 days in jail for the contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge.

Odle’s next hearing is on January 17 in Weakley County Circuit Court

Posting on behalf of my mum!

******ACTION ALERT – CROSS POST FAR AND WIDE: CONTACT THE ASPCA EVERY DAY (212) 876-7700, ext. 4450***********

Are you tired of seeing exploited, overworked NYC carriage horses hauling around callous tourists while dodging taxi cabs, buses and trucks?!

Are you tired of seeing the ASPCA counting their money while the NYC carriage horses continue to drop on the streets of Manhattan?! The holiday season is the busiest time of the year for the greedy and abusive carriage horse industry.

The ASPCA is supposed to monitor the carriage horses and ensure that the industry is following the city regulations. Where is the ASPCA? We have no idea.

Please contact them every day and ask them why they are not on the hack line monitoring the carriage horses who are being overworked during this busy holiday season.

Their phone number is (212) 876-7700, ext. 4450.

Please call them every day and ask them what they are doing to ban the carriage horse industry in NYC and remind them they need to be out there every day to monitor the horses and the drivers.

NYC HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE CRUELTY

Published on 17 Aug 2012

Yesterday afternoon, a six-year-old carriage horse named Oreo was spooked by a horn, broke free from his carriage and tore through dangerous NYC traffic for four blocks before being tranquilized and collapsing in front of horrified onlookers. Thankfully, Oreo is now recovering in his stable with minor scratches.

Even though you don’t live in New York City, you can still make a difference for the horses by sending a letter to City Council Speaker, Christine Quinn. Fill out the info below and click SUBMIT to tell Speaker Quinn that as a NYC visitor, you want humane electric cars, not carriage horse abuse!http://www.nyclass.org/contactquinn

Please watch the following, it’s the first time I have; it really gives a clear insight into this industry. It is very upsetting to all animal lovers, so I guess I must say view at own discretion. I am not as strong as my mum when it comes to watching videos where animals suffer; but I know she & other animal advocates do so to get the information out & educate people on the atrocities that occur, often right under our noses. Just watch as the people pass these noble steeds, as if they were nothing but ornamental decorations.

I have just come back from seeing to our 2 horses who live in luxury & want for nothing…so to see these beautiful horses, nose to tail with exhaust fumes, dodging traffic & idiotic humans is just heart-breaking! I have been to the horse sales with my mum & seen horses that are spent, from over breeding, horse racing, abusive owners & horses who are so lame from road founder, they can hardly stand! But I bet that’s nothing compared to the horse sales where NYC carriage horses end up. Those once noble beautiful horses, now reduced to pitiful sentient beings literally on their last legs…will have one last journey, to the slaughter house! Please say NO to this cruelty!

Just a few petitions to ban NYC Horse Carriages:-

Brooklyn man busted for starving pit bull

A brutal Brooklyn man today was busted for starving his pit bull to the point where the tragic animal was eating trash and towels to stay alive, authorities said.

The ASPCA had visited Ledell Walker’s home last year after receiving a call saying his dog was very thin, sources said. Walker, 57, wasn’t home, but afterward, he dropped off his ailing, abused pet at the Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in Manhattan, authorities said.

His 4-year-old pooch — named “Drew” by the veterinarian staff — was so weak that he could barely walk or lift his head, authorities said.

“Drew was nearly dead upon arrival, it was almost too late to save his life,” said ASPCA spokesman Joseph Pentangelo. “Drew suffered from a combination of starvation and medical neglect.”

The grey-and-white dog was anemic, emaciated and had an untreated intestinal blockage. Surgeons removed trash, chewed pieces of plastic and a towel from his stomach — indicating the poor pup had been scavenging for food.

Walker was charged with animal cruelty.

His arrest was the 17th involving animal cruelty in New York City, and the fifth in Brooklyn, so far this year, Pentangelo said.

He also was recently collared for grand larceny and has a past robbery arrest.

Priests Starving Cats At New York City Catholic Church

Comments Off on Priests Starving Cats At New York City Catholic Church

“A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, but even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.” (Proverbs 12:10).

It’s been almost two weeks since the eight feral cats that call Manhattan’s historic St. James Church home, have been fed.  That’s because two priests have locked out an animal r

escue group that has tended the colony for years in an effort to starve the cats off of church property.  The priests, Father Lino Gonsalves and Father Walter Tonelotto have refused to meet with the rescue group, the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals to discuss plans for cat care.

Until now, the feral colony at St. James was a model Trap / Neuter / Release (TNR) project, but according to rescuers, in recent weeks one groundskeeper at the church hinted that the cats would be poisoned and rescuers were threatened with arrest for trespassing.
