“SOMEBODY MUST RECOGNISE THIS DOG; OR KNOW SOMEONE WHOSE YORKIE HAS JUST VANISHED. PLEASE CONTACT THE NUMBER BELOW…the heartless Bastards need to pay for this despicable act! “
Saturday, Dec 28, 2013: Police are looking for the person who abandoned the Yorkie
A passerby near the intersection of White Pond and Farmers Mills roads in Kent contacted police after spotting the pooch.
Officials say the dog, an approximately 4- to 6-year-old male Yorkie, was found huddled in a small black metal crate in a snowy patch of property just off the side of the road.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Putnam County SPCA at 845-520-6915.
“The video regards this news post, is below, along with another version of events (In italics) which if true, do not add up with the news posted below! I know one thing, no animal deserves to be hanged via a lead then slammed into wall; therefore that employee should be punished. If (as it states below the video) the dog had bitten several employees, then it should have had a muzzle on when being handled; that was no reason to abuse the dog! But why has it taken a year for the video to surface? Didn’t the person who took the video think it should have been handed to police straight away; so the employee could have been punished? If the incident did indeed happen a year ago, how can we be sure this female employee, Stefanie Stasse hasn’t committed other violent attacks??”
ORLANDO, Fla. — An employee at a local veterinarian’s office has been fired after she was caught on camera slamming a dog against a wall.
WFTV discovered the employee, Stefanie Stasse, was fired following Thursday’s story.
Friday, the office’s owner said he wants her prosecuted, after defending her Thursday.
Dr. Mohammad Hassan claims he had to go by what his employees told him about the incident, and was also under advice from his lawyer not to say otherwise.
Employee slams dog into wall
Even though he said Thursday the incident happened a year and a half ago, Friday he said he doesn’t know when the video was taken.
Hassan, who stood up for his employee after alarming video of vet tech Stasse was posted on YouTube, said she is now fired. “None of this really adds up, clearly there is something amiss!“
Hassan said he is going to press charges. “If she should serve time in jail, I don’t mind that,” Hassan said.
The Orange CountySheriff’s Office investigated the alleged abuse and is turning the case over to the state attorney’s office.
The video shows the dog being slammed against a wall as many as five times.
Hassan said Thursday Stasse had to take extreme measures to control the dog and it wasn’t hurt.
“They are hollow walls there, very soft, it’s not a concrete wall that if you hit the dog you’re going to break his back,” Hassan had said Thursday.
Friday, Hassan said his change of tune was because “Yesterday all I had was the statements from the employees.”
Three former employees contacted Channel 9 after the story aired Thursday.
Hassan said he fired Sheena Torres, but she claims she quit after seeing abuse and mistreatment.
“I was not fired, I walked out. I walked out. He was angry with me because I told him, ‘Listen, this cat has been here all day without treatment,'” Torres said.
Torres even complained to Animal Services. Reports show the officer found it hard to determine the validity of some claims because the officer was not a veterinarian.
“I just hope my clients don’t hold this against me personally or my good staff,” Hassan said.
Viewers were so upset over the video, they even posted a petition to fire Stasse and close the clinic. (Petition below the video)
It will be up to the state attorney’s office, once it gets the case, to press charges.
WFTV also contacted the Department of Business and Professional Licensing Friday, but they have not commented on whether they are investigating or not. “Now please read the news that accompanies the video!”

The Vet states that this video was placed on youtube by an ex disgruntled employee who was fired. He also alleges that the video was tampered with and pieced together and it does not show the entire incident. He states that the incident is 10 minutes in its entirety and if we were to see the entire video, we would agree with what this employee did.
Let me laugh first… lol! Now… seriously!?! I could care less if a disgruntled ex employee posted this crime of animal abuse on youtube. BUT… I do have thoughts about the lady depicted in the cell phone video committing the crime of animal abuse. WHO…… I say WHO in his or her right state of mind would pick a dog up off the floor and hang it by its leash and SLAM it repeatedly into the wall!?!
This is the employee who should have been fired but instead the vet supports the employee for doing this and she remained there after this incident and was employed there as of yesterday when this was broadcast on the news for this incident is being investigated now. I have to ask….. this is one video that was made public….. what happened there all those other days and how many animals received abusive treatment there???
This is a copy and paste from the news report that aired on TV yesterday.
Video: Dog slammed against wall at Orlando pet clinic
State Attorney‘s office investigating possible animal abuse
ORLANDO, Fla. – Allegations of dog abuse at an Orlando animal hospital have now forced the state attorney’s office to consider charging the clinic’s manager after graphic video showed her slamming a small dog against a wall by its leash.
The woman seen slamming the small dog against a wall — at least four times — is the manager at the Emergency Pet Hospital on White Road in Orlando, said Veterinarian Dr. Mohammad Hassan, and she is still working at the clinic.
The cellphone video lasts 32 seconds and was posted on YouTube by a woman who received it from people who worked at the hospital.
That tipster, who asked to remain anonymous, calls what is seen on the video “abuse” and said “it’s horrendous.”
“There’s right and wrong, and you just don’t do it,” said the tipster. “There are proper ways to handle things. This poor dog doesn’t have a voice. This poor dog couldn’t go and tell his owner that he was being mistreated.”
On the video, the dog yelps and has a cone around its head, indicating it may have recently underwent surgery. The manager wrestles with the dog’s tiny collar and when the dog appears uncooperative.
“I was very upset when I saw the video,” said Hassan. “It does look very bad because the video was altered and trimmed.”
Hassan said what we don’t see on the short video clip is what happened in the 10 minutes before the manager lost her patience. He said the dog bit several workers, was uncontrollable and his manager made several different attempts to handle the dog.
When asked if there is a better way to take care of that dog, Hassan said, “There’s always a better way.”
As far as this being a case of animal abuse, Hassan does not agree.
“If you see the video as-is, I’m sure it can be considered animal abuse,” said Hassan. “If you see the whole video, you’re going to realize what happened there happens everywhere all the time.”
Hassan said the video is over a year and a half old and believes whoever leaked it has a grudge against him because they were fired.
It’s unclear who owns the dog or if it was injured in the attack, but Hassan asserts it was not.
“Below are links to video & a more detailed look into this illegal racket. I was going to post it, had it all set up, then I saw this lighter version! But it’s worth reading, sounds to me like others got off Scott free; make me wonder if this guy hasn’t taken the rap for a few others!!”

A Thai national has been sentenced to 40 years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to charges of exporting rhino horns from South Africa, in the country’s strongest illegal wildlife sentence to date.
Chumlong Lemtongthai admitted to playing a large part in a scheme that usedwhite rhinotrophy hunts inSouth Africaas a cover for smuggling horns to black markets inAsia. He employedAsiannationals to pose as hunters and take part in organised hunts on game farms in the North West province.
Charges against three South Africans and two others Asian nationals, the co-accused, were however dropped without explanation.
Lemtongthai told Johnannesburg’s Kempton Park magistrates court: “I humbly apologise to the court and to the people of South Africa for my role in this matter. I appreciate that the emotions of all animal lovers in South Africa are running very high and that I was part of the problem.”
Jo Shaw, rhino co-ordinator for WWF-SA, said: “These higher-level arrests and convictions are critical to disrupting theillegal tradechains used to move rhino horns into illicit markets in Asia.”
“Ugly Bxxxxxxd isn’t he, have you noticed all animal abusers are ugly? I know where I would like to use the scissors on him!!”
A 22-year-old Billings man is accused of choking his girlfriend and beating her with a rock and, in a separate incident, stomping on the woman‘s kitten and stabbing it with scissors.
Thomas Joseph Godwin
Thomas Joseph Godwin appeared Wednesday in JusticeCourt by video from the county jail on felony charges ofaggravated assault, assault with a weapon and aggravatedanimal cruelty.
Judge Larry Herman set bond at $100,000 and ordered Godwin to appear in District Court for arraignment on Monday.
Herman set the high bond amount after a prosecutor said the allegations against Godwin involve extreme violence, he recently moved to Montana and has a misdemeanor criminalrecord that includes assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
According to prosecutors, the animal cruelty charge stems from an incident on Aug. 31. Police were called to an apartment on Fallow Lane at 5 a.m. where they spoke with a 45-year-old woman identified in court records by the initials P.J.
P.J. told officers that Godwin had been drinking and was trying to give her 4-month-old kitten, Jasmine, some medication when the kitten bit his finger. The woman said Godwin threw the kitten against a wall, stomped on it and then stabbed the kitten with scissors.
The kitten required veterinary surgery for its injuries.
In the second case, prosecutors said Godwin was arrested by officers Saturday when they were called to the same apartment on Fallow Lane at about 1:50 p.m.
P.J. told officers that she and Godwin had been in an argument because he had been drinking while on mental health medications. During the argument, she said, Godwin attacked her and choked her until she passed out.
The woman said that when she regained consciousness, Godwin was still grasping her neck and began striking her in the head with a large rock. The woman said she grabbed Godwin by the groin to make him stop, then called 911.
Prosecutors said P.J. was treated at St. Vincent Healthcare where she received staples to close a gash on her head.
Godwin allegedly told officers that P.J. was attacked by a “largeNative American” who ran away when Godwin pushed him.
Johannesburg – Poachers killed 100 rhino in less than two months, a surge in killings that took the tally for the year to 381, authorities said on Wednesday.
More than half of the animals were killed in the Kruger National Park with the rate of the slaughter likely to mean that the year’s final tally will pass last year’s carnage of 448 animals poached.
The department of environmental affairs said: “The latest rhino poaching statistics indicate that a total of 381 rhino have been killed since the beginning of this year.”
But there has been a devastating increase in poaching in recent years as black market demand for rhino horn has grown with numbers leaping from 13 in 2007 to 333 in 2010.
Heightened security measures have failed to stop the criminal syndicates that officials say are responsible for the killing.
The animals’ distinctive horns are hacked off to be smuggled to the lucrative Asian black market, where the fingernail-like substance is falsely believed to have powerful healing properties.
On the black market, the horns are worth their weight in gold.
Soldiers and specialist investigators have been deployed to national parks to battle the poachers.
Despite the rise in the numbers of killings since July, the number of arrests has slightly gone up to 199 from 176 suspects held two months ago.
On July 1st 2012, a quota of 85 000 Cape Fur seal pups are set to be beaten to death in Namibia. The pups are separated from their mothers. They are herded away from the safety of the sea where they are then beaten to death with pick handles. They are stabbed in the throat, often while still alive.

We can beat this cruelty!
A further quota of 6 000 adult bull seals will be set. These are to be shot at point blank range so that their genitals can be exported to the East where they are used to make ineffective sex potions for the Asian Market.
You can help put an end to this!
Aside from the cruelty aspect, an independent report shows that seal viewing based ecotourism in Namibia will yield three hundred times more revenue than the massacre and will create a wealth of job opportunities in a country desperate for employment.
With Namibia facing mounting public outcry and increasing consumer boycotts, we the undersigned are urging the Hon. MinisterBernard Esau to immediately end the annual bloodbath, protect the seals with effective new legislation and to allow all Namibians to benefit from this magnificent tourist drawcard.
Please sign and share this petitions. Time is running out and thousands of baby seals are going to beaten to death!
“Namibia is responsible for the largest slaughter of wildlife on earth. Each year, 85 000 baby seals are violently beaten to death for their fur and a further 6 000 adult bulls are shot at point blank range. The Cape Fur seal is a threatened species and is listed on Appendix II of CITES.”
I wrote this song and created the video as a special dedication to the tens of thousands of innocent seals which are ruthlessly killed every year during the Namibian seal slaughter. It is my sincere wish that this cruel practice will come to an end forever and I wholeheartedly support any efforts to make this wish a realization.
LET US ALL UNITE TO PROTEST AGAINST THE SEAL SLAUGHTER WITH HEART AND SOUL
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Thursday that the outer scales of a young male pangolin, a rare type of anteater that is legally protected, were recently removed by poachers in northwestern Zimbabwe.

The body of the anteater was recovered from poachers. The scales appeared to have already been sold, the group said. It was one of three incidents reported this year involving poaching of the endangered nocturnal creature seen by many Zimbabweans as a symbol of power and mystery. The scales are thought to have value in Asian medicine as a traditional remedy for a host of conditions.
A rare white buffalo calf that became the centre of a Native American cult has died mysteriously just days before its first birthday.
Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of the buffalo, named Lightning Medicine Cloud, on Lakota Ranch, north Texas.
Ranch owner Arby Little Soldier says he found the animal dead on Monday. The buffalo’s mother was found dead the following day, he said.
Last year, thousands attended a naming ceremony to celebrate the calf’s May 12 birth. The ceremony, held at the ranch, included gourd dancing, traditional drum ceremonies and Native American arts and craft vendors.
According to Lakota Sioux lore, the goddess of peace once appeared in the form of a white buffalo calf.
Arby Little Soldier says the buffalo ‘was the hope of all nations’.
Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said his agency was working with the Texas Rangers to determine ‘whom or what killed Lightning Medicine Cloud’.
The other buffalo at the ranch had been unusually protective towards the white calf, circling around him when anyone came near.
Arby Little Soldier was working on a film about the rare animal, called ‘White Buffalo: An American Prophecy’.
In a promotional video, uploaded on Youtube in January, he said his ancestors had told him of Lightning Medicine Cloud’s birth.
He said there was a one in six billion chance of a buffalo being born white, and that they were ‘very sacred’.
He added that the calf was the first ever born to an individual native American and that its birth filled a prophecy that had lived in the hearts of many Native Americans for centuries.
Arby Little Solder said a birthday celebration planned this month will be a memorial instead.
In an interview for White Buffalo: An American Prophecy, Arby Little Soldier comments on the birth of a sacred White Buffalo – Lightning Medicine Cloud – on the Lakota Ranch in Texas, and what it means for humanity.http://www.facebook.com/whitebuffalomovie
