Target: Channing D. Phillips, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia

Goal: Prosecute woman who allegedly almost beat small Yorkie to death.

A 6-pound Yorkie was allegedly beaten by its owner. We need to take action to better ensure the person responsible gets the maximum prison sentence so that other animals will be less likely to meet the same fate.

Kristina Washington allegedly beat her Yorkie and then failed to provide it with medical care. The dog was hit numerous times in various areas of its body and it now has multiple fractures. Some of these fractures include 11 spinal fractures, five limb fractures, multiple fractures to its skull, four broken ribs and a broken foot. The dog’s left leg was also broken so many times that a part of the bone actually absorbed into the body tissue, making it less likely that the leg will properly heal.

Surgeries done on the animal have already cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. Additionally, the dog needs many more surgeries and the animal may not be able to be saved.

Urge the United States Attorney to bring this woman up on two felony counts for this alleged crime, so that she will likely have to spend 10 years in prison. Beating a 6-pound animal is both disgusting and inexcusable.

PLEASE GO TO THIS PETITION LINK TO SIGN, THANK YOU: http://animalpetitions.org/124608/severely-beaten-yorkie-deserves-justice/

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney Phillips,

A woman allegedly nearly beat a small Yorkie to death. If found guilty, it is important that she is punished to the fullest extent of the law so that other animals will not have to suffer under her ownership.

Kristina Washington reportedly beat her Yorkie and then did not get the dog medical care. The dog was beaten to such a great extent that it has multiple fractures. Some of these fractures include 11 spinal fractures, four broken ribs and even multiple fractures to the head.

Veterinarians are not yet able to guarantee that the animal can be saved. Furthermore, surgeries done to help the animal have already cost well over $10,000 and more money is still needed to do other surgeries.

As a United States Attorney, you have the power to bring this woman up on two felony charges in order to better ensure that she will spend 10 years in prison. I therefore urge you to do everything possible to make sure this woman is punished to the fullest extent of the law for committing this alleged, heinous crime. Anyone who almost kills a 6-pound defenceless animal by beating it deserves to spend a great deal of time in prison.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

A Personal Note: R.I.P My Beautiful Horse…Heartbroken, Lost And Devastated Without You!!

Comments Off on A Personal Note: R.I.P My Beautiful Horse…Heartbroken, Lost And Devastated Without You!!

It is with a broken heart that I write this myself, (albeit over several days) despite feeling lost, alone, terribly sad, heartbroken & in pain, I just wanted to let you all know; my beautiful horse (who saved my life) had to be put to sleep Thursday 17th July; she passed over Rainbow bridge around 6.30p.m. after a long battle with colic!

R.I.P Lillia, gone but never forgotten xxx

R.I.P Lillia, gone but never forgotten xxx

My apologies for taking so long to get in touch, but it’s taken all this time, for me to be able to think let alone write about Lillia; without breaking down! Some of you may have seen posts on FB, as my daughter put it on her FB page & shared it to mine.

Many of you know I suffer with pain, due to a riding accident, which lead to several failed back surgeries, throughout my life. There has often been times I haven’t been able to post due to pain or being in hospital! But now I have lost my best friend & life saver; I’m devastated…I just haven’t got the strength to cope with ill-health & a broken heart at the same time, to enable me to post; aside from the odd petition in the last few days!

Regards Lillia, I feel it may help me, to deal with her loss, if I write about it. To this day, I still can’t talk about her, without bursting into tears, I just wanted to be left alone to grieve in my own time! So I’m hoping this will ease my heart & reduce my tears…I hope it may also help other horses owners, that haven’t seen a horse colic & realise, just how small the signs, in their horses behaviour, can lead to severe colic!

It all started on the 23/07/2014. The vets had been called out for 3 days in a row, to see Lillia at the livery yard. Lillia was off her food & wasn’t drinking much, the livery staff also noticed a lack of faeces! It could have been anything from an upset tummy to very mild colic symptoms, going by how she was presenting! She was treated with the appropriate medications & walked accordingly, but by 7.30 p.m on Wednesday evening, she was no better; so the vet referred her for immediate investigative surgery! I felt so guilty, helpless & heartbroken that I couldn’t go with her; due to my own complications from recent surgery! My only solace, was that my daughter was with her throughout.

All I could do was sit near the phone all night, praying for a miracle. Eventually at 1.40 a.m the vet called, Lillia had been in theater for 4 hours!  Once in theater the vets noted she had suffered from a right dorsal displacement of the large colon & had an impacted Cecum, that could have ruptured at any time. They were extremely lucky they caught it before it did. I found it so strange that she wasn’t presenting the symptoms one would normally associate with the above colic, which is why she wasn’t sent to the Equine hospital sooner! Which just proves not all horses show the classic colic symptoms like; rolling, pawing, kicking the ground, biting at stomach, sweating, with a rapid pulse & heavy breathing. The vet also explained that whilst Lillia was under anaesthetic, she also had problems with her heart, but the vets manage to stabilize her & carry on with the operation. I was mortified to think my horse was going through all this, without me being there to help, due to my own pain; thank God, she had my daughter’s voice, to reassure & calm her!!

After a week she was allowed home, still with the bandaging , stitches & staples. in place, she didn’t have to return to the hospital, as they could be taken out by any vet. From photo’s my daughter took, I couldn’t believe how quickly she had lost condition, from her withers to her backside; she looked very dehydrated. Lillia was ok for a few days, but unfortunately the colic symptoms returned, so she was rushed back into hospital. This carried on from the 23rd June to 16th July, in & out of hospital with colic symptoms. On the 16th July, she was allowed to come home once again; the yard staff had even made her a welcome home banner, thinking this would be the end of it all!

The day after she came home from her latest visit to the Equine hospital; I can’t describe why, or even begin to understand why, I had this overwhelming feeling that I just had to see her that day. This nagging, gut wrenching urge, just wouldn’t leave the pit of my stomach. Something told me that I had to be with Lillia that day. Although I was still recovering & was due in hospital the next day, I simply couldn’t ignore the feeling. I couldn’t go alone so my mum took me! I couldn’t get to see & be with Lillia fast enough, I was aching to wrap my arms around her, to tell her much I missed & loved her & how sorry I was at not being able to be with her throughout her ordeal.

Finally, we arrived at the stables (the livery yard is in another town, which meant visiting her, a problem due to my pain; my own fault, I wanted the best place where she would be loved , not just another livery number) & I soon had her in my arms! But all I could do was cry with relief, that she was ok & home again! But within 5 minutes, she began pawing the air, at first I thought it was because she was pleased to see me, & wanted a treat (she would often lift her front leg, her sign for treats) but then reality hit home; OMG…she was colicing yet again!!. Immediately the staff began walking her around whilst I rang the vet; it worried me that the staff had never seen her this bad! She was stomping, pawing, sweating & biting at her stomach. The vet reiterated how damaging it would be if she went down & began rolling, he said to give her more bute & keep her up & walking, until he arrived; the trailer was on standby, just in case!

Lillia so desperately wanted to lay down, her back legs were buckling as she tried to walk, so the staff managed to get her into the sand school arena, so she didn’t injure her back legs. To see her being pulled & tugged at, to keep her up & moving was heart wrenching, but it had to be done. I’d done it years ago with a previous horse, but it’s not easy to keep a horse up; when all it wants to do is lay down! I sat on the bench, sobbing in my mother’s arms, watching my beautiful precious girl in such pain, was devastating to see; but harder because I wasn’t able to help! My tears wouldn’t stop & my heart was breaking. Suddenly, Lillia collapsed in the sand school & nobody could get her up; I just knew I had to be with her! So I left my mum, who was also in tears, to ring my daughter at work, to tell her she needed to get to the livery yard, ASAP.

Somehow, perhaps it was shock & adrenalin blocking my pain, I managed to get in the sand school, I just had to be with Lillia. I fell down to my knees at Lillias head, (all I could hear was my mum shouting frantically, along with the yard staff, to get up, as I wouldn’t have been able to move quick enough, had Lillia tried to get up or started rolling & kicking out in pain) but I knew once I looked into her eyes, she wasn’t going to do that! I just sat, with her head in my lap & told her how much I loved her & how brave she was. I told her that if my operation went well, we could soon be together again, perhaps even ride on the beach again & go hacking through the countryside etc; we just had so much to look forward to!

However, the longer I looked into her beautiful chocolate coloured eyes, I saw her soul & felt her pain; yet I couldn’t do anything to take it away, I just felt so bloody useless…I couldn’t hold back the tears! Stroking her face, I kept telling her how much I loved her & how sorry I was, that I couldn’t get to see her more often! Then suddenly she started to make strange grunting noises, like we would say “ugh” when in pain. I then realised why, the feeling in my gut; was telling me I had to be with her, that particular day!!

The vet arrived & after his examination, I could tell it wasn’t good, he immediately gave her pain killers & a little sedation via injection! My daughter arrived not long after the vet, which had given him time to explain the full situation to me. It left me with little doubt, the heartbreaking decision I had to make that day; if I wanted Lillias suffering to stop!!

R.I.P My special angel xx

R.I.P My special angel xx

There was no easy way to tell my daughter, that under the vets advice, I had decided to free Lillia of her pain! We both held each other; whilst sobbing & gently stroking Lillias face. The vet explained again to my daughter, what he had told me…Lillias cecum felt impacted again & could perforate. He ruled out further surgery, as she was still recovering from the first operation & there was a big risk of infection, plus the vet was also concerned with all the complications Lillia was having, post surgery. This time it could be a Cecal perforation (usually fatal)  masked through the use of drugs she was having daily (1). Moreover, there was the added concerns regarding Lillias heart problems, during surgery; the anaesthetic alone could kill her!

However, because the vet had given Lillia IV pain relief as well as sedation, they had got her back on her feet, so she was just stood there showing little to no symptoms. My daughter pleaded with me to give Lillia another chance, but she hadn’t seen her 30 minutes before, groaning in pain. She asked the vet, if it was his horse, what would he do? He simply said “I would end it”!!

Lillia would never have recovered, if she had a Cecal Perforation; I just didn’t want her to suffer anymore, I had to make the right choice for her! I realised how many times I’d wished someone would have put me to sleep due to my chronic pain; I couldn’t let Lillia suffer. The only reason to keep Lillia alive, would be just for my own selfish reasons, because I needed her in my life & loved her so much… I didn’t want to let her go, especially as this was the first time I had seen in her months, due to my own ill-health; but I knew I had to let her go!

I had to do what was best for her, so I whispered in her ear, she didn’t have to suffer the severe pain anymore, there was a beautiful place waiting for her, just over Rainbow Bridge! Saying those words to the one you love so much is very hard indeed, I felt physically sick…but to let them go is even harder! If you truly love them, you have to let them go, I just couldn’t bear the thought of her suffering another minute, in severe pain. The vet held my arm, but I couldn’t say it, my sobbing stopped me talking…I just nodded; he knew what I meant!

We had to walk Lillia down to a field (she had to be somewhere with easy access for the trailer to get in) so the vet gave her more pain relief & sedative, then he told us to take our time, to say our goodbyes. I have to say the vet was very supportive & said he would do the same, if it were his horse. But it didn’t relieve my guilty feeling, at letting Lillia go, although it helped, knowing I was doing the right thing. My daughter had just bought Lilla, a brand new pink fluffy headcollar, that she had never worn, so we put it on her & she looked beautiful. Our hearts were breaking & our tears flowed, I have never felt so sad, broken-hearted & guilty in all my life!! Devastated, there we stood, with our arms around Lillia, our tears soaking her face. I told her she was ready to cross Rainbow Bridge, where there would be lots more horses & ponies to run & play with; I also asked her to forgive me & that one day we would be back together again, riding through the clouds!

After what seemed like hours, the vet came & told us he was going to give her another injection, that would make her fall to the ground & when we had finished our goodbyes, he would peacefully put her to sleep via another injection. Before he did, I asked if we could have one last picture taken with her! The vet gave her the injection & she immediately fell into the grass. We then spent ages laying in the grass with Lillia, she just laid there looking so peaceful; she didn’t move apart from blinking, her nostrils rising & falling with each breath. We took our time plaiting her main & talked about all the fun things we had done, we both had our own special, precious & fun memories with her!

, Just before Lillia went over Rainbow Bridge!

Saying our last goodbye’s….Just before Lillia went over Rainbow Bridge!

The vet waited with patience & sympathy until we were ready. Whilst holding Lillias head & each other, we sobbed uncontrollably, under the setting sun. It had to be done, so I nodded to the vet, who then gave Lillia the final injection, & her heart stopped. She peacefully passed away in our arms…then crossed over Rainbow Bridge! I didn’t realise just how many tears were left, we cut off the plaits of her hair to remember her by & put them in the lockets we both owned, so she would always be near our hearts forever! Then we had to say our final, heartbreaking goodbyes, leaving her alone in the field just didn’t feel right; but we had to leave. I wished we’d owned some private land. so that Lillia could have been buried, that way we could always visit; but we didn’t, so had to walk away. It was overwhelming & so emotional, all the horses that Lillia had shared the fields with, started to whinny, as if they too were saying goodbye!!

It was the ending I had always dreamt of, yet never had, with any of my other horses, when having to say goodbye! This, though so very hard, was the perfect ending; I only wish all horses could have such a beautiful & peaceful end! The last thing Lillia saw, was our faces, our voices, the last she heard! The sun was just about to go down, yet it still shone around Lillia, making her look like she was surrounded by a golden halo! Through the warm rays of the sunshine, we looked back; it was very emotional yet strangely so calm, beautiful & serene! Lillias coat glistened in the hazy sun; she just looked like she was peacefully sleeping. As we walked away, my daughter took the amazing picture below. It was a day tarnished with such heartache, sadness & raw emotion; yet also the most beautiful…Lillias image, surrounded by a golden light, will stay in my heart, always & forever.

background lillia put to sleep

Under this beautiful sunset, Lillia passed over Rainbow Bridge…pain free at last! xx God only knows, why I’d had such a gut feeling that day & also  found the strength to be with Lillia. But whatever or whomever pleaded with my heart, to see Lillia that day, I’m eternally grateful for! I was exactly where I wanted to be…where I could be with my precious girl; on the day I had to sadly say goodbye!!

As I write this, my tears fall, but I will be back asap, I just can’t say when! I have a big spinal operation due soon, which will obviously set me back even more; there is a risk of paralyses amongst other complications, so I’ve had to think long & hard about this operation. My main reason for going ahead with it, was so that I could be with Lillia, perhaps even ride again!! However, despite the risks, I have still decided to go ahead with it. I’m devastated that Lillia has gone; but in time, I will buy or rescue another horse, so I need to be as pain-free as possible! I’m sure Lillia would have wanted me to give my love to another horse; however, nothing can or will ever replace my precious girl.

I just hope you understand the reasons for the lack of posts & can stick with me throughout this very difficult & emotional period. Losing Lilla has really knocked me off my feet & I have to admit, I have gone into a bit of a melt down! I just have to get over my broken heart & find the strength from within, to face what I’m praying; will be my last spinal operation!! It won’t give me a miraculous recovery & take all my pain away; but if all goes well, it will hopefully give me a better quality of life!

It’s taken me so many days to write the above, bit by bit, & has made me so very sad, yet I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect end for Lillia! I’ve cried a lot; but ultimately, I think writing this has helped me come to terms with my loss. Lillia was no ordinary horse, she saved me from chronic depression; she made me feel alive again, she was just such a special horse, whom I miss so very much! It’s going to take time, but one day I will find another special horse, or God Willing,  it will find me, to share my love & life with, just as Lillia had done!!

The following poem, is, I believe the words Lillia would say to me, if only she could, as I sit here in such an emotional wreck:-

Miss you from heaven

Miss you from heaven

Obviously, I’ve been away quite some time now, due to my health & the sad loss of Lillia. So I don’t blame anyone who has lost interest in my blog due to the lack of posts. But it would be great, to know I still have some followers left, to write news blogs for!! I really can’t tell you & you will never know, just how much your support has helped me deal with my life over the years…I’d like to thank each & every one of you who have subscribed & supported this blog!!

You have given me a reason, to battle on through my pain, most importantly, to help me to spread the global atrocities & raise awareness to the abuse, animals face daily at the hands of humans. Be it through slaughter for human consumption or entertainment. The public has to open its eyes to the suffering of innocent animals & act accordingly. Please don’t visit zoos or circuses, doing so only adds to their daily abuse & heartache. Please, don’t become part of their suffering by visiting animal attractions like Seaworld! The owners want you to be in awe of the beautiful Orcas & Dolphin displays & you’re encouraged to think they live a glamorous lifestyle, with the best of everything. The sheer size of a captive Orc, in relation to the pool it is kept in, is ridiculous & cruel, it’s the equivalent to a person, being locked in solitary confinement in a 10x10ft room!!!!  They want you to believe it is all done in the best interest of their species & of course for conservation etc. The handful that do so for conservation, don’t expect their  animals to entertain the public.

YOU… need to be made aware of the true suffering involved; for your entertainment. I aim to share the truth & mental suffering these amazing animals have to go through, to entertain the paying public…this goes for every caged animal, forced to entertain for profit! Seriously, you must understand why some captive animals just snap: which usually ends with the life of a human & the animal involved being killed! They never asked to be involved…they were forced. Seriously, have you ever seen an elephant stand on its head in the wild? or tigers & lions jumping through hoops of fire?? It’s not natural to them, they are forced, often in barbaric ways…just to entertain you & are purely motivated by money alone!!

Remember, the only thing that will love you more than yourself, is an animal; pure & simple unconditional love, asking so little in return!

I promise I’ll  be back just as soon as I can & I hope I can count on your help & support by sharing my stories, news & signing petitions regards animals abuse! The free speaking public, need to learn the truth about the abuse animals suffer. Regards the exotic species, torn from their families as youngsters, then cruelly abused & repeatedly trained through abuse & violence, how to entertain those on vacation; such as dancing bears, photos with young elephants on busy streets, monkeys. birds & sea life…that are brutally forced to entertain for money…PERIOD!!! If those who go to venues involving animals, they need to learn the truth & the signs to look for. The swaying elephants, the pacing tigers, bears, repetitive animal behavior etc, they act that way due to psychosis, they are literally going stir crazy…wouldn’t you? if you were taken from your family, caged beaten into submission; then trained to entertain??? If  your answer is no, then  sadly I think you’re reading the wrong blog!!!

Footnote

  1.  Cecal impaction and cecal perforation, the two most common equine cecal diseases, are thought to develop after slowing or interruption of a single progressive motility pattern, which begins in a pacemaker area near the apex, occurs once every 3 minutes, and propels ingesta from the cecum to the right ventral colon. Rectal examination in horses with cecal impaction is the most useful technique to grade the severity of the condition. Medical treatment is undertaken if the impaction is judged to be mild to moderate. Surgical correction of cecal impaction in severe cases requires a ventral midline celiotomy, and exploration reveals a large ingesta-filled cecum and relatively empty large colon.Cecal perforation (CP), a uniformly fatal disease of horses, most often develops when the subtle signs of cecal impaction are missed or are masked by the administration of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agents.

Hi All

Firstly, may I just say thank you to those who sent get well wishes etc. I really appreciate your kind words & prayers.

Well, the prayers worked, it’s been several weeks since I had this first part of spinal surgery & I’m pleased to say it went as well as could be expected, as has my recovery! I’m feeling stronger, which means I am now able to get to my desktop computer; to communicate with you guys!

However, this is only the first of possibly several surgery’s, which obviously means no posts again; whilst in hospital & at home recovering. Yes I have a laptop & iPad, but my wireless internet range is pants, it won’t reach my bedroom; so I can’t post anything until I am able to get to my desktop computer, sorry!

But, for now, until I go back into hospital & pain allowing, I think I could manage a couple of posts a day; but like I said pain allowing, so don’t hold me to that..lol

Once again, thanks to everybody who sent well wishes, I will let you know when I go back into hospital; that way you will know the reason why there are no posts.

Jules

P.S. If ever days go by without me posting anything; it means I’m either in hospital or in too much pain to get to my desktop….don’t ever think I’ve given up on trying to educate people to the horrors of global animal abuse!!

A Personal Note From Me

Dear followers

I hope most of you got the post about me being unwell, I’m so very sorry my illness has kept me away for so long! Unfortunately, I’m still not 100% & need to be back in hospital Tuesday 17th for a small operation, but I’m hoping things go to plan & I get home for Christmas.  So until then, I will try to post as much as my pain allows.

However, in the New Year I will be having further surgery on my spine, I have no idea how long I will be out of action for, but I will make sure someone keeps you posted. I can assure you, it upsets me to think animals are suffering & I’m not able to help them by telling their stories; so I will get back to normal posting as soon as is possible.

As this is linked to these accounts, my apologise for not replying to messages on Twitter or Facebook, having just had a quick glance; I see I have a lot to catch up with. Please don’t think I have been ignoring any personal messages or request to post news; I really haven’t been well enough to do much of anything. I will get round to answering them all as soon as I am able, bearing in mind I will be out of action again after my spinal surgery in the New Year. It’s going to take quite some time to catch up, I have never been away for so long before, so please bear with me!!

To enable me to catch up, I have had to delete a lot of news items sent via Email (which will hopefully have been covered by others ) on Word press blogs etc. However, I have kept & added lots more petitions to sign at the following:-

https://preciousjules1985.wordpress.com/more-up-to-date-petitions-that-need-your-signature-please/

I’ve also got some news stories I want to write-up, so please be aware, the date I post them to this blog, won’t be the date the story was first issued!

May I take this opportunity to wish you & your families A Very Happy, Healthy, Joyful Christmas & A Bright & Prosperous New Year.

“Another update on Kenneth, he looks great, I always knew he was going to be good looking, so pleased he has his cute face back”

“Remember what he looked like this before the operation….

“Someone had sliced right through his snout with a very sharp knife or machete. The poor dog wandered for several days before a kind person rescued him. The perpetrator has still not been found either…nasty viscous pig…to purposefully do that to a dog, then kick it out onto the streets!”

Photo original description from Dr. Guille

“Kenneth with his Innocent look….before trying to steal his neighbours food through the cage….”

UPDATE on Kenneth; October 17, 2012, From Dr. Guille Zialcita:

“We have removed his fluids for the mean time as we would like to give him a bit more freedom to move around.

Also we have discovered that he has been able to pull a couple of his stitches on the hard palate today and thus we will be scheduling him for another surgery to repair the tissue that is separated because of his movement.

Unfortunately this is a common complication in oral surgeries because the dogs are bothered by the sutures inside the mouth and their tongue plays around with the suture, and we were expecting some form of complication, the surgery will be scheduled for this Saturday, October 20 , 2012

We will post the updates daily on his progress, but he continues to improve daily and he is wanting to play more and more.”

“Many thanks to all who donated, you helped to give this dog back his good looks…It sickens me to think how anyone could hurt a cute face like. “

“Update on beautiful Kenneth….Oh this truly is wonderful to see, I knew they would be able to repair his face & make him beautiful again. I made a small donation via ChipIn, it’s so gratifying to see that any money donated has been spent on making Kenneth beautiful again of course there is all the after care medications to think of too. If surgery is done Pro-Bono, then donations will be used for medical attention, medications, supplies etc. Thank you to anyone who donated, doesn’t it feel great to know you played a small part in making his surgery possible; & giving Kenneth his life back. Not sure if he will remain with the person that rescued him.

“Now all they need to do is find the evil POS that did this to Kenneth!”

Many thanks to the team at IRO  (Island Rescue Organization) & CSDC (Cebu South Dog Club) for making this happen!

This is the SAME photo we have furnished the press/media today October 9,2012. we fervently hope for the understanding of the press for not letting them go inside Kenneth’s recovery room. we refrained unnecessary visits of Kenneth to avoid changes in his stress level.

UPDATE Oct. 9 , 2012; 11AM PH TIME (+8 GMT)
Statement from Nena Hernandez, IRO President:
Post surgical update on Kenneth: He ate very well this morning. Kenneth tried to take off his bandages and in the process some of his stitches got out.

Dr. Ivy Alvarez-Zialcita (Animal Wellness Veterinary Hospital) then decided to staple that section and not put the bandages that way he won’t try to take it off and in the process his stitches would be removed.

He is using an Elizabethan collar so that he doesn’t attempt to remove any more stitches. He is also being sedated to facilitate his healing. He is breathing through one nostril because the other nostril is swollen. Once the swelling subsides, he will be able to breath through that nostril.

He is getting annoyed of the process, again which is normal and a good sign, but Doc Ivy said he is a good boy. No personal visits of Kenneth is allowed except IRO (Island Rescue Organization) and CSDC (Cebu South Dog Club) officers. There is a press conference tomorrow October 10, 2012 @4PM in Animal Wellness Veterinary Clinic.

Dog Suffering With Horrific Wound, No Skin & Exposed Bone In Brazil – Denies Offers Of Free Help!

Comments Off on Dog Suffering With Horrific Wound, No Skin & Exposed Bone In Brazil – Denies Offers Of Free Help!

“I started writing this post last night, but couldn’t finish it due to pain. However, a lot has happened since then. Below is the story of a dog rescued, in Rio de Janeiro with massive trauma to his rear end, by a man named Wilson. Obviously when pictures were seen of the devastating injury, a Face Book rescue team offered their services or were contacted by Wilson for help (I am unsure as to which it is) because the dog needed immediate attention, to tend to the gaping wounds. This Face book group (who I’ve just found, stating that Wilson asked for their help) arranged to have the dog treated free of charge & arranged a ChipIn for people who wanted to donate to the dogs treatment”.

“However, it appears that Wilson, the man who rescued the dog now named Davi, will not let it go & have the specialist treatment, it so desperately needs to save it’s life. It is obvious to anyone, who see’s the pictures of the poor dog, that it needs special surgery, skin grafts, blood transfusions etc. etc. that simply can’t be treated at home or by a local vet! For reasons unknown to me, Wilson will not let the dog go have the treatment done, even though it’s for free! I simply can’t think of any reason why someone who rescued a dog in such condition, would turn down the offer of free surgery & help, which would normally cost a fortune…but more so, because each passing hour, the dogs life is ticking away!”

“Further more, since writing this last night, the rescuer, Wilson, seems to have taken all the pictures of the dog, off his Face book page, but I had already added some to this post!! It is all rather confusing, but I have tried to give both sides of the story, it is up to you the reader to try & understand why the dogs rescuer, will not let the dog go & receive the treatment he needs to save his life!”

“Please note the further down this page you go, the more shocking the pictures are, so viewer discretion is advised!”

The photos of Davi’s  the dogs wounds are shocking – horrifying in fact.

A trauma of some sort has left the emaciated hound with a gaping wound, so deep that bone is exposed. Without a doubt, the long untreated injury causes this dog incredible pain.

Davi was recently discovered in the woods outside of Rio de Janeiro in Brasil.

View slideshow: Davi    The severely wounded dog had been left for dead.

Without a doubt, had Davi not been discovered, infection would have invaded the massive wound and killed him. But a man named Wilson has taken it upon himself to help this abandoned, injured dog.

Though this sounds as if it may be a rescue story, it sadly, is not.

Wilson, though seemingly compassionate, has for reasons unknown, chosen not to take Davi to a veterinary surgeon. Instead, Davi is getting minimal care at Wilson’s home.

A veterinarian has seen him there, and has given him antibiotic pills, vitamins, as well as IV fluids right after Davi was rescued.

But, according to those trying to help Davi, that is all.

The obvious reason for not taking Davi to the specialist which is needed to close the massive wound and provide a much needed blood transfusion would seem to be that Wilson does not have the funds to provide the specialized care.

But that is not the case.

As word of Davi’s trauma spread, rescuers and dog lovers chipped in to raise funds so that Davi could receive the specialized care that he needs to recover.

In fact, though Wilson has been informed that a specialist is waiting to see Davi and that all of the veterinary expenses will be covered – the “rescuer,” for reasons unknown, has chosen to not take Davi to the veterinary hospital.

For six days, those who have raised funds have been pleading with this man to take the dog to a specialist. According to those who organized the fundraising, for six days, he has refused.

On Tuesday, the following was posted on the Facebook page created for this dog about the current situation:

We have come to a point, where there is no getting through to this Rescuer who has, “Davi”. His name is, “Wilson Martins Coutinho”. He needs to be Reported to an International Animal Welfare Organization. Could you please help me get the word out? We have everything booked for “Davi” to arrive at a Vet Hospital with a renound Doctor/ Surgeon. We even had the Surgeon contact, “Wilson” directly to bring “Davi” in.

All expenses would be paid for by SPonsors, and the Doctor’s there, Vet Staff, as well as “Wilson” is well aware of this. But “Wilson” still won’t take “Davi” there. Today is day 6 of pleading with him! Please! Can you help us?

International Animal Welfare Organizations:
Humane Society International
WSPA (World Society for the Protection of ANimals)
PETA

Right now, without proper care and treatment, Davi is suffering. His wound reveals exposed bone – the risk of deadly infection is high.

Davi needs specialized help, yet he is, for some reason, being denied.

“Below are statements taken from the rescue Face book page, (throughout the course of the evening) those trying to help Davi the dog.  But Wilson, who found the dog, will not give him up, even though he does not have to pay anything! It is important that you read the ‘About’ section of this link, it will help you understand what is going on..you need it, believe me! It also appears that friends of Wilson on his Face book page, have reportedly made rude remarks & comments…to the people offering help!. That’s just stupid & doesn’t help the dog in anyway at all…he is the reason were here for Gods sake, so stop ya bitching & just let the dog get treated, before it’s too late!!”

Hi Everyone! This is Elaine Wiesner-Rohr.

As I mentioned earlier, the Rescuer of, “Davi” only speaks fluent Portuguese. For this reason, I have asked, “Thor Boxer” (Daniela) to translate my messages to him in Portuguese,  I only found out about him last night, and Thor Boxer & I started his Fan Page this today.

We have no idea how long the dog had been in this condition, before “Wilson” (Davi’s Rescuer) found him, and brought him home. I’m told that for the past couple of day’s, “Wilson” has been feeding “Davi” and putting Antibiotic Ointment on his wound site. I spoke to both, “Thor Boxer” (Daniela) & Myriam Corral today, who forwarded the message to have “Wilson” take this dog to the Vet Immediately.

Please know that “Wilson” is unemployed, and can only do so much for the Stray Animals. It was kind of him to take in this stray dog, when everyone else just continued to pass him by. “Davi” is very weak. And for that reason, the Vet decided to make a house call, and treat, “Davi” at Wilson’s House.

Davi’s wound site was Irrigated, and then an Anaesthetic Injection was given to Davi, in order to clean & stitch up some of this large wound

I have asked, “Thor Boxer” to contact Wilson again, to ask for the Vet’s Name, Address, and Contact Number. I asked her to tell him that we would handle everything with the Vet. I want to find out from her, where is the best Vet Hospital for “Davi” to go to in Rio de Janeiro (or surrounding area).

We would have to set up an Account for “Davi” at that Vet Hospital, and have Sponsors call in directly with a Donation, Donate via their Pay Pal Address (if they have one), or Donate via a CHIP IN LINK, which at this point I believe we should handle for the Rescuer.

Again, we have not heard back from “Wilson” yet, regarding the Vet Info that I asked for above. For that reason, I can not post the Vet Info yet, nor a CHIP IN. We need more info from him, before we can move forward with this. Hopefully, we’ll have more Updates tomorrow. Again, he only speaks fluent Portugese……and so “Thor Boxer” (Daniela) is in contact with him, to help me Translate. Thank you.

Why do we have to keep repeating ourselves over & over again to the Brazilian Residents on “Wilson’s” Face book Friend List? What do you not UNDERSTAND?

“Davi” was found by Wilson as a Stray 8 days ago! The day after “Davi” was found, we offered our Assistance! We asked Wilson to take Davi to the Vet Immediately, as he was only putting antibiotic ointment on this Horrific Wound! Instead, he had a Vet visit Davi at home (because it was free of charge).

She stiched up Davi’s wound at home. If you look at the Pictures of Davi, you will notice that a piece of bone continues to be exposed, which puts him at Great Risk for a Bone Infection (Osteomyelitis)! He needs to be Hospitalized & evaluated by a Veterinary Surgeon to close up that horrific wound! It will not close up on it’s own! Davi needs to have a “Skin Graft” done, in order to close it!

We begged Wilson for 5 day’s to find a Vet Hospital in his area to take Davi to, in order to be Hospitalized. On the 6th day, we finally contacted a Vet Hospital, spoke to the Doctor/ Surgeon who could take Davi.

They have seen his pics, and the Surgeon wants him to come in Immediately  We even had the Surgeon contact Wilson Directly. Did Wilson bother to even speak with the Surgeon? No! We even told Wilson that we would pay for Davi’s transport to get there Further more, all of Davi’s Medical Expenses, Medicines, and Surgery would be paid for by our Sponsors. So I ask you again, why can’t Davi be Hospitalized & be under the care of a Renound Veterinary Surgeon in Brazil??? If it’s being Completely paid for? It’s better to have Davi stay there in that home with a horrific open wound??

Elaine Wiesner-Rohr

Emergency Message to Activists Around the World!
We have just been contacted by both Humane Society Intl & WSPA! They have looked at the Photographs I’ve sent them of “Davi”! They have said that aside from “Davi’s” Horrible Injuries, they believe he also has an Advanced case of Sticker Tumor (a Sexually Transmitted Disease) If this IS Sticker Tumor, it is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS!

Any dog that comes in contact with “Davi” will ALSO get STICKER TUMOR!
The only way to cure this is through “CHEMOTHERAPY” & strong Antibiotic Medications.

Aside from that, “Davi” also needs a Blood Transfusion! So I ask you again, if we will PAY EVERYTHING through our Sponsors (CHEMOTHERAPY INCLUDED) for “Davi” (if this is also STICKER TUMOR)…….WHY won’t Wilson allow Davi to be Hospitalized at a Vet Hospital, and get ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HE NEEDS, inlcuding surgery & CHEMOTHERAPY if he needs it?????

And all the while, we’re still being Spit on, THREATENED, and HARRASSED by “Brazilian Resident’s” on Wilson’s Friend’s List????
You can contact Humane Society Intl & WSPA yourselves to confirm everything I’ve said!!!
Thank you

Posted Thursday
When Friday comes around, and Wilson still hasn’t Admitted “Davi” the Vet Hospital, we can no longer provide help. All of our Sponsors Donations will be Reimbursed (which was to be used towards all of Davi’s Medical Care, Medications, and Surgery). We have already tried our best (over a course of 8 day’s now), begging for Wilson to allow “Davi” to go to the Vet Hospital for Evaluation by a Veterinary Doctor/ Surgeon.

We can not continue to be spit on by all the Brazilian Residents Harrassing us, and threatening us on this page.
This was all about helping “Davi” from the very beginning. We were there when Wilson asked us to start the CHIP IN for “Davi” 8 day’s ago. We also were asked by the Doctor to buy all the Special Dog Food, Supplements, and Nutri Cal to help Davi get better. It costs $203 US Dollars, which we can also provide a receipt for. We refuse to no longer be spit on by so many Brazilian Residents. This is not about you or Wilson. It’s about saving the life of 1 dog, and doing the right thing for him.
I hope Wilson & the Brazilian Residents do the right thing for Davi.

Friday
We are Asking a Journalist or Editor out there, if you could Please start an International Petition now to help Davi? We want people to sign it from All over the World, so they know what is happening to this dog. We were told that Wilson had finally agreed to take Davi to the Vet, but the Vet Hospital still doesn’t have, “Davi”! Tomorrow will be Day 10! Please! It’s now time to start an International Petition to help Davi!!!!

Later on Friday
We are now Seeking the Help of Intl News Media, News Reporters, Journalists, Doctor’s, and Surgeon’s around the World! We are also seeking the help from Attorney’s (both American & Internationally) to look at “Davi’s” Story, and to Please help him! We are also asking the Help of Large Animal Welfare Organization’s (Humane Society Intl, WSPA, PETA, etc) to Please take a look at “Davi’s” Case & Intervene!

Today is the last day of begging for “Wilson” to take Davi to be Admitted to a Vet Hospital & be seen by a Veterinary Surgeon.
He will die in this man’s hand’s. Davi has exposed bone, putting him at great risk for a Bone Infection (Osteomyelitis).

Also, we’ve been told by inside sources, that “Davi” isn’t even having “Wet to Dry” Dressing Changes on that horrible wound site! Any person in the Medical Profession (Doctor’s, Vet’s, Surgeon’s, Registered Nurses, Vet Techn’s) around the World know to do this!

So we are now ASKING the ENTIRE World to Please EXPOSE what is happening to “Davi”. This needs International News Media Coverage! Please help Davi! Thank you!

 Friday Evening
Urgent News!!! The Lawyer for “Wilson” can no longer help. He has refused to talk to her! And a Dog Taxi was called, and he wouldn’t answer the phone either! At this point, there’s nothing more we can do for Davi. I’m so sorry.

But what we will do is continue to contact Intl News Media, Journalists, and Large Animal Welfare Organizations to still try & Intervene.

I think at this point, “Davi” may have to be Physically Removed from “Wilson’s” Care. We are forwarding all pics, info, and Documented Emails from Wilson to them as well. Thank you.

” I posted a few pictures from Wilsons Face book page, but he has now removed them, had I known, I would have posted more, as they are proof of what has been said!! “

” Below is the Face Book Page of ‘ WilsonProtector’:- the man who rescued Davi the dog! I can’t think of how the dog was or became injured, unless he was caught in a trap or used for some other unspeakable disgusting reason!”
https://www.facebook.com/wilsonprotetor

“The following pictures are from Wilsons Face Book page with translations – I felt it important to add some pictures from Wilsons Face Book, proving that he does seem to be  asking for help!”

” The following written words IF NOT  in BLUE are the words of Wilsons (translated)”

THIS IS THE PICTURE THAT CRITTER MAN IS CAPABLE OF DOING

“Who made that shelter for Davi the dog? Was it the person who caused the injury or another person, just trying to help Davi, by providing shelter & food!”

BUT GIVES TO SEE THAT THIS into your gums SUPER WHITE HE IS WITH ANEMIA AND PROBABLY THE TICK DISEASE

“The dog has purple spray (a topical anti-bacterial spray that I use on horses) on the wound, when was that put on? perhaps when the wound was much smaller? perhaps done by the person who caused the wound? or the person who made the shelter for Davi??”

AS ALWAYS SAY DOING MY PART TO U.S., BUT JUST CAN NOT GET TO THE END TE NEED VCS

DUE TO THEIR APPEARANCE IA NOT THINK THERE LAST 2 DAYS

“So he clearly states on the above picture that he doesn’t think the dog will last more than 2 days! Surely if he thought that, he would be grateful of any free help?”

THIS IS THE PICTURE OF neglect the date is still 20/09/12

PERSONAL HELP ME PLEASE

I just read from the rescue group Face book page, that it was in fact Wilson that asked them for help…but now for some strange reason, he is refusing any help at all. He say’s in the above picture ‘Person help me please’ well he has been offered help but will not take it…he can’t treat that wound with antibacterial cream alone, the dog needs to see a team of specialist vets. I am amazed Davi hasn’t already died from infection! Surely he can see there is nothing he can do, nor the local vet to help Davi…he rescued him to be saved to live…not die, so each passing hour, any infection in Davi’s injury will get worse…the longer it’s the left, the more chance he has of dying…why can’t Wilson see that…Something strange is going on here, why would he ask for help, only to refuse it. Is he trying to be some sort of healer who thinks he can save Davi’s life, alone?!!

HE is caring and calms

“HELLO AND STAFF AS SAID BEFORE SOMEONE LOOKING doubted AI The VETE SHE SAID THAT would SEE OUR THANKS DOCTOR DAVID ISABELA”

SHE SAID THAT WHEN SEEN SUCH BEAUTIFUL EYES IN PHOTOS IS LOVE A FIRST SIGHT RS RS

NOT JUST BE JUST HAVE TO HAVE VETE LOVE IN HEART AND THAT OUR FRIEND HAS A LOT

ANAESTHESIA FOR  GETTING TREATMENT OR HEALING DO WITHOUT PAIN

” Above are words taken from some pictures, translated, of course, from Wilsons Face book page. The next set of pictures clearly show the vet at the house, (which doesn’t look like the sort of place an open wound should be in contact with, it looks very dirty) cleaning & stitching as much of the wound as is possible, hard when the skin is missing!”

SHE ALWAYS TAKING CARE IN OUR DAVID

ALSO WANT TO THANK HER ASSISTANT FABIANA FOR HELP WITH THIS ANGEL

TRYING TO REDUCE OUR FRIEND FERIEMENTO

“came the exams davi and the news is not good he’ll have to make a transfusion “(I’m presuming this is about the blood work results, dam, I wish I had copied those pictures…it seems so odd that Wilson has taken down all his pictures, of which there over a hundred)”

DAVID KING RECEIVED TODAY OUR DISTINGUISHED GUEST RS RS THANKS FOR HELPING FEED SPECIAL MEDICATION AND DAVID PRO FEED MY CLASS.

ANOTHER VISIT TO OUR KING DAVID MY FRIEND CAME FROM AFAR, THANK YOU FOR HELPING THINGS OUR BAZAAR ANIMAL PRO

STAFF PHOTO SORRY BUT I took the REQUESTS FOR YOUR VETE

HOW CAN SEE THE VCS ITEMS ARE STILL IN PLACE (Now the 25th Sept)

“The following pictures show the dog Davi with Wilson, at what looks like a veterinary clinic!  However, I understand the rescue groups need for urgency by saying Davi needs more help, than is available at the local vets…he does!  Davi needs specialist care & specialist surgeons, who can make skin grafts to cover the exposed area of bone etc…all of which have been offered to Wilson, free of charge, yet he still has refused. I am confused with it all, which is why I am showing both sides of the argument. It is the dog that is of paramount importance here…does it really matter who treats the dog, as long as he survives?

AS A DOCTOR MAKES DRESSING VALERIO I CARRY A CHAT WITH OUR DAVID TOLD HIM THAT NO IA DOER AND I WAS THERE

VALERIO DOCTOR SAID THAT WILL TAKE A TEPO PRA heal BUT IF I CONTINUE DOING WHAT THE DOCTOR Izabela Berbert Fecher indicated WILL GIVE ALL RIGHT

VALERIO GOOD DOCTOR SAID THAT ANY PROCEDURE THAT OUR FRIEND AND DOCTOR Izabela Berbert Fecher SENT TO CORRECT THIS COMPLETELY

THANKS …………………. SEND FOR SPECIAL FOOD AND MEDICATIONS TO OUR DAVID THAT IMPROVES EVERY DAY, WAY THIS WILL BE OUR ONLY WANTING TO DAVID FILET MIGNON RS RS (Dog food etc. obviously donated) (Were these supplies donated from the rescue Face book group?)”

“The following was posted 13 hours ago (around midnight UK time) on Wilsons face book page ,https://www.facebook.com/wilsonprotetor again translated; It is very hard to understand… but in his latest post, he seems a little pissed off about the rescue Face book page. Perhaps Wilson is under the illusion that his local vet can treat Davi, I don’t know…it’s all very confusing. But more importantly, I have noticed the pictures of Davi, the vet bills & blood work, which were on his face book page after midnight last night… have now gone!”

GOOD I WILL ANOTHER outburst TODAY IN PART OF THE MORNING I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A TAXI DOG THAT WAS THE WAY TO MY HOUSE TO BRING TO THE DAVID PETROPOLIS. PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Face book page below, is from those wanting to help, the ones who Wilson apparently asked for help:– https://www.facebook.com/pages/Horribly-Disfigured-Dog-Davi-in-Need-of-Emergency-Treatment/565457590147188  Alas, Wilson has still refused their help for free treatment for the dog, the following was posted around 3p.m UK time. It all seems very strange to me, asking for help, then refusing it. This is no time to be playing bloody games, just get the dam dog to a specialist vet who can save his life…no one else can!!”

We have come to the Conclusion that “Wilson” is using “Davi” for some kind of Benefit. We can not State it Publicly, so you will have to Judge for Yourselves.

This man, “Wilson” continues to beg for Money Everyday on his FB Page. If this is what he’s doing, WHY won’t he let “Davi” just go to the Vet Hospital to be Admitted. We have stated over & over again for 12 Day’s now that WE WILL PAY ALL OF “DAVI’S” MEDICAL EXPENSES, HOSPITALIZATION, MEDICATIONS, SURGERY, AND CHEMOTHERAPY (if he needs it).

This will be done through Davi’s CHIP IN, where people all over the World can Donate to help him. So why does Wilson continue to beg for Money everyday? Unless…..is “Davi” being used as a tool to Collect More Money?

We don’t know exactly……but if we have said for 12 day’s now, that all of Davi’s Medical Expenses will be paid for by Sponsor’s……why not Hospitalize Davi & allow him to be seen by a Top Veterinary Surgeon in Brazil?

Why does he make Davi Suffer Day after Day.…..and no one does a thing to remove “Davi” from that Home?
I don’t understand. Why??????I also saw a posting by someone on “Wilson’s” page yesterday, that “Davi’s” appetite is declining. He’s not eating well, nor drinking well now. It was someone who also posted Davi’s new lab results. But it has also been erased from “Wilson’s” Page now. I will take a Lie Detector to that, as I saw it with my own eyes. There was also something about a $915 bill, and only $500 had been paid on it. I can’t seem to find it now. Thank you.

Yesterday
Proof that “Wilson” has been and Administrator on, “Davi’s” Page from Day 1! We also have Documented ALL Email Conversation’s with him, asking us to start the CHIP IN for Davi! Also, WE are the ones who purchased all of “Davi’s” Supplement’s, Nutrical, and Special Dog Food! It cost us $203 US Dollars, and we can provide a Receipt for it! I ask you AGAIN…..if Our Sponsor’s will pay ALL of “Davi’s ” Medical Care, Med’s, and Surgery……why can’t Davi be Hospitalized & seen by a Renound Veterinary Surgeon??????

“Wilson” has been an Administrator on this page for 10 day’s now! I have taken a snapshot photo on my Computer Screen proving this! Why is he telling all of the “Brazilian Resident’s” (on his page), that our page is a Fake, when he is an Administrator on it?
And has been for 10 day’s now? He knew of this page, and was asked to be an Administrator of it from the very beginning!

We have Documented proof of Everything! I have already forwarded these pics to a Journalist, including ALL EMAIL Conversations with “Wilson” from the very beginning!
He is the one who ASKED us to start a CHIP IN LINK to raise money for “Davi’s” Medical Care. Also, WE were the ones who bought all those supplements, Nutri Cal, and Special Dog food! It cost us $203 US Dollars, and we have a Receipt for it! WE have been Honest from the very beginning!

To the Brazilian Resident’s on Wilson’s Friend’s List, “Why does your “Wilson” say all these things to you, when we have Documented Proof of everything he’s said to us……including pics of him being an Administrator on this page from Day 1?

“I can testify that I too saw pictures of receipts & what looked like blood work. Had I known he was going to delete all the pictures of Davi, I would have copied more pictures, from Wilsons Face book page.”

“I have tried to show a snippet of both sides, using the pictures from Wilsons face book, the man who has Davi, the Dog, in Rio de Janeiro  (as proof of what he has said or done) obviously translated, albeit badly…you can get an idea of what’s been happening.I would suggest you try & read both sides of the argument…on both Face book pages!”

“This man can not treat this dog alone, that is clear, I don’t believe a small vet practice can either. I totally understand that Wilson found the dog & wants to bring him back to health himself, but it is impossible…he needs help, that will not be available from a local vet! So why doesn’t Wilson let the dog be treated…something isn’t quite right here!!”

“This dog has no skin around the injury to stitch up, therefore infection will be the killer!  If that dog has any chance at life, he needs special surgeons, NOW, which is what the other face book page is offering, free of charge, yet it seems Wilson will not accept, for reasons unknown to us all!!.”

“I would have thought it obvious to anyone, who see’s that dogs wound, that the dog needs more than Wilson or the local vets can provide…he must get help ASAP either from the group offering it on Face book or from other source…if he does not, that dog will probably die.”

Let’s Adopt Global – Saving Samson The Kitten With Severe Eye Problems

Comments Off on Let’s Adopt Global – Saving Samson The Kitten With Severe Eye Problems

“I don’t know what happened to this little guy but he sure is a fighter, I’m sending loving prayers so that his pain ends soon; & he can live as a cat should. I know Victor & all at Lets Adopt global will do all they can for him.  Losing both eye’s will be very traumatic for little Samson, but I’m sure he will manage!”

“I have a dog with no eyes, both taken out within a week…nobody even notices he has no eyes…as long as furniture in the home is not moved, he can get around with my other dogs; who have bells on, so he knows where they are at all times.”

If you are reading this you are likely to be an animal rescuer, or least to like animals beyond what the general public finds “normal”.

If you are reading this you are also likely to spot an animal in trouble when others just see nothing.

I’ve named him Samson and I must admit I nearly missed this little man... just by looking at these pictures you will understand why.

I found him in exactly the same place where I found Monkey about already three months ago. He was stumbling on the side, right next to the garbage container. At first from the car, I thought he may been a rat or a mouse, it was dark and he black, but rats don’t stumble and fall, this was a kitty and he was in trouble.

Stopped the car, and I grabbed him, there was not much left in him skin and bones, not much of either. Samson weighs little over 100 grams. A hundred grams of skin, bit of fur, infection, pus, fleas… and whole lot of PRIDE!!!!

What a cat!!! Never seen anything like it… I mean, he’s got everything going against him, he’s totally malnourished, who knows when he ate last. One of his eyes is totally gone. Instead of eye fluid, he hadpuss and infection, the other eye has severe keratitis and we don’t know if well be able to save it., and he’s black which unfortunately makes him nearly invisible as he barely comes in pictures as more than a black dot against whatever background we choose. But against all odds, this is a cat that won’t be brought down, a true survivor. Samson defines the word attitude.

Samson wants to go on with life. He doesn’t mind about loosing sight, or having to fight for weeks in order to get rid of the virus that has caused his condition, he just lives the moment as only a cat can do.

We are first going to stabilise his conditionimprove his anaemiareduce infection, and then we will operate his eye. Once this source of infection and pain is gone, he will be more comfortable and with our help his body will be able to focus on fixing the rest, on healing, on growing, on BECOMING THE CAT HE WANTS TO BE… minus the eye (and the fleas).

This is Samson, a name that signifies both strength and weakness. This is Samson, and he’ll only make it, if we help him.   I leave you with a video of him, hopefully you will see and feel what I see and feel.

After he is recovered fully Samson will need a final home… If you feel you are HIS family please contact me on viktor@myletsadopt.com

Puppy’s injuries lead to investigation of Fort Collins boarding facility

Animal Protection and Control has opened an investigation against a Fort Collins boarding and training facility following a complaint from a Fort Collins family.

Tiffany Brown of Fort Collins said her 13-week-old purebred German shepherd puppy, Baron, suffered blunt force trauma and injuries that resulted in the surgical removal of the dog’s eye after boarding at American Dog School, 5809 Strauss Cabin Road, over the weekend. Animal Protection and Control confirmed Monday it is investigating the incident.

When Brown picked up Baron from the facility Sunday after a weekend stay, she said the puppy’s right eye was “bulging from the socket and looked dead.”

Brown said American Dog School owner Tami Carrasco had told her the dog had been fine a few hours before and that she hadn’t seen any sign of trauma.

Carrasco told the Coloradoan that she had been with or near Baron all weekend and did not notice any signs of trauma or injury until 5 p.m. Sunday, when she retrieved him for the Browns.

“He was running and rooting around all weekend,” she said. “He’s a great puppy. I would have rushed him to the hospital if I had seen anything wrong.” She’s owned American Dog School for 20 years.

I have this business because I love dogs,” she said. “I would never, never hurt a puppy … I feel horrible. I love that puppy. I brag about him all the time.”

When Brown took Baron to Colorado State Veterinary Teaching Hospital on Sunday evening, she was told Baron’s injuries were at least 24 hours old.

A veterinarian with the hospital told the Coloradoan that Baron’s injuries were a minimum of 24 hours old and that the puppy had suffered blunt force trauma similar to the severity a dog would experience in a “head-on collision with a car.”

Medical records do not lie,” Brown said.

Carrasco said she’s already received multiple prank calls since the story broke Monday evening and fears what publicity about the incident will do to her business — which she maintains is not at fault.

I’m worried that people will throw me in with the abusive dog trainer,” Carrasco said, referring to the case of Ryan Matthews, the former Loveland dog trainer who pleaded guilty to animal abuse at his training facility. “I would never hurt a dog. This scares me. I feel like I’m going to wake up with a burning cross in my yard.”

Brown bought Baron from Adel Haus German Shepherds, a breeding facility in Julesburg, as a companion dog for her five children, with the intent of also showing him and enrolling him in service dog training school.

The family had searched for a dog for more than six months and was “more than willing” to pay $2,400 for their dream dog — which included both personality and physical attributes.

“We immediately fell in love with him,” Brown said. “It was about finding that perfect puppy.”

Shortly after bringing Baron home in August, Brown began taking him to training at American Dog School and said she began working with Carrasco. After five or six training sessions, the Browns left Baron for a weekend stay.

“We had a good rapport,” she said. “She was really good with Baron … I felt totally comfortable with leaving him there. I don’t know what happened, but something did.”

After Baron’s surgery to remove the eye Monday, Brown hoped to take him home Monday evening. But the “young warrior,” as his name means, has a long row to hoe, she said.

“He’s still not out of the woods,” she said. “We’re just praying he has a full recovery. He’s definitely battled it out and shown his stuff. He has a battle scar now.”
